Lightbulb getting back into the dating thing?

well,
i wish there was a personals site for G B's. at least that is one obstical that we wouldn't have to explain to the so called "regular people"

i have been divorced for nearly five years and had surgery just 2 yrs ago. had been in a realtionship before and just after a year out. i have met a few people, but they don't seem to understand some of the( )issues GB's have to deal with and so the relationships go just so far and then boom, they hit and impass. "regular people" sometimes can't understand the special nutrition needs and i find a lot can't handle the "extra skin thing"( tho mine isn't all that major).

if there is a place for gb singles, could you tell me how to get to it!
or hey lets start one!
has anyone else had this problem?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

i just think as far out as you are you shouldnt be tossin up so much.
I know i rarely do now...but did far more the first year out.
throwing up regularly is very dangerous for even gastric bypass people.
ARE you eating to fast? not chewing well or (something i am guilty of)
going back all the time on foods that you know disagree with you???

I am thinking and i dont want to offend you any, just a personal thing here, is to find out why you throw up so much???? As far as the skin thing and people not handling well they should be falling for you, and
not concerned on the "LOOKS THINGIE".......

I dont really know any gastric bypass dateing sites but maybe its something you can figure out how to start!!!!!
I am married so its not something i really have to concern of. sorry
for the lack of help.
As far as the special nutrition needs sure i eat more protein then any other food group but people dont really think i eat different when im in groups....sorry your going thru all this. I konw the first year was difficult
even for my hubby but now things are more normal i just eat smaller
amounts then before.

Default dating thing

thanks lisa,
i don't "toss" all that much and certainly not daily(or even weekly) or i would be concerned. and yes i agree that i we all should be accepted for oursleves and not our looks, but in this world, those people are a rare find.
i just think if there were a forum that was specifically for GB's as there are for many other communities, it would be very bennifical to a lot of folks! if there isn't an organization out there well maybe it can be created!
thanks!
continued blessings in your marriage and thank you for you input.

WOw what a good idea. I know there are plenty of guys who have been thru this in the support group at the hospital where i got mine done. Have you been to one of those? Mine has "mixer" type things every few months or so. I guess to get you socialized.
I think it would be cool to meet someone (date) that has been thru this. We'd have a lot in common in terms of food. lol. if anyone finds anything or starts anything let me know. I'd LOVE to take it for a test drive lol!

Haooy anniversary LIsa

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.

As far as site your suggestion goes, I am sorry but I do not think CraigT who hosts this site would really want to go into that. It would be much less easy to keep things organized than now, and probably the most serious, and difficult aspect would be, how can we keep the unwanted types of people who will try to sneak in under our radar, out of such a forum. That kind of stuff is best left up to those who have the know how of how to organize and keep things in line for that kind of thing. This board is not equipped for that.

If you wish to meet people, then I think the best way is to try to organize a get together among yourselves, or to attend meetings and conventions that are hosted by various mutual support organizations. So far, here, we have various members meeting on personal basis, but other than the NY area, we don't yet have enough people to be able to organize a meet, everyone is spread all over.

Other than that, I am going to move this to Stupid Questions, as your post is partly a self introductory post, so, the replies are likely going to be off topic for the initial place where this was first posted.

((((((HUGS)))))) May your journey go well.

At the time of my surgery my youngest was 2.5 years old.

I had no one come to help due to a death in my family just
before my surgery no one was able to help me. MY hubby returned to
work the tuesday after my surgery i was fine to tend my son.
I just explained to him mommy had bo bo's that i couldnt carry him
and he was fine and my little helper!
IT worked out well for me.

and the two older kids were in school all day!
they were ages 10 and 8 at time of my surgery!
