Default Ok, I have a question......

Ok, I had lap RNY. The incesion on my left side (the biggest one) has a marble size knot in it. It is not sensitive to the touch, I just had noticed it yesterday while putting lotion on my stomach. So, should I be alarmed? I've heard of hernia's and things like that happening, but I really don't know the "symptoms" of these types of problems. Like I said, it doesn't not hurt at all, but I didn't know if I should be alarmed or not.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I had that too in the same spot if I am understanding you correctly. I noticed mine moreso when i ate. Mine went away though. If you had a hernia YOU WOULD KNOW IT. but if you are uneasy about it call your dr.

I was thinking that maybe it could be scar tissue too. I just don't want to bother the Dr.'s office if it is something silly. I would rather throw it out here first!! lol I know, it is ALWAYS best to consult with your Dr. instead of a message board. lol

If in doubt, contact your surgeon.
That said, does the knot swell after you eat? Does it move when you push it around? Is is softer to the touch than the surrounding area? Even if you don't have pain, these things could indicate hernia. A surgeon would know just by feeling your tummy, though, so best to have it examined if you are concernec about it.

Nothing is too silly for the surgeon's office, especially early out.
Better be safe than sorry.

Thanks Kenya and Doc. No, it's not really "softer" to the touch, actually it's harder. And it doesn't seem to move around either. I guess I should call them just to make sure. My next appt. isn't until the beginning of Aug. so I probably shouldn't wait that long. Ok, I'll call them!!!! lol
