There really is no typical how much, both pre-op and one month post op.
You also may or may not feel hungry, that depends on the person, too.
You probably can expect to lose around 10lb with a strict pre-op diet, and 10-20 the first month, but it's not always the case, some lose less, and that doesn't mean it's bad. It's just the individual difference.
Basically, as a total, you can expect to lose half of your excess weight in the first 6 months, then half of the remaining half, in other words, one quarter, in the next 6 months, then the last quarter past the one year mark to 18-24 months. The weight loss will not be in one smooth curve, but will come in bumps and drops and stalls which come in different amounts and different stages with different people. If you start comparing yourself to someone else, or to a chart, it will be more unnerving rather than soothing or exciting, so keep a postive outlook that during the first year or two you basically will lose no matter what, so long as you stick to your surgeon's directions, and concentrate on establishing a healthy eating habit and healthy life style.
As for the hunger, IF you do feel hungry, it may be real hunger, or it just may be "head hunger", a sort of a knee jerk reaction to something like food fragrance or TV commercials that makes you think you must have that even if your pouch is stuffed.
(((((HUGS)))) Wishing you the best.
