Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass   |  One more then I'll give it a rest.....lol! OK. I understand that with rapid weight loss, comes hairloss BUT my question is, does this affect ALL hair? I mean, I have some shedding which was to be expected. I'm not upset about it at all because you really cant notice. BUT my concern is.... I'm losing my eyelashes......  Any thoughts??

All of them are so different in the hair loss department. One said Ok Vickie Im telling ya right now.....get a wig........the next one ..what hair loss? I didnt lose a bit? I know we shed twice a year. Just like cats and dogs. I got that info from my hairstylist. So I dont know about the eye lashes but never heard anyone say anything about that. So.....i dunno! |

I went thru a phase that i hated my eyelashes when i did my makeup and i didnt udnerstand why being i was always a great lash mascara gal... thought it was the product but maybe i had some eyelashes come out! WOW! i think i just learned something new here! I am not always the most observant. so im thinking YES it happens!!!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | LOL. you know what i really think is helping me with the hairloss?? my dr has me on prenatal vitamins twice a day and of course i am paying special attention to my protein intake; I also eat a BUNCH of jello daily hence the long nails i have ( I just figured all of this out DUH!) . im guessing its keeping my hair in too LOL. for now LOL! but this eyelash thing is puzzling.... Lisa; I know i can always look to you for answers. Now i dont feel like a nut LOL!

I think prenatel vitamins are a smart idea but i would have feared swallowing them early out.... so the chewables worked for me. MY hair loss started at the end of month three going into month four. IT lasted for me thru month 12 too ...was very hard on me. NOW a year later my hair is slowly thickening up but i have all these darn layers that i cant help its cause of the new growth .....oh well !

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | im fine swallowing them now. in the beginning i was on centrum chewables but doc changed that at the last visit. I have no troubles swallowing anything EXCEPT the darn calcium pills. so i only used the citrate pills if i run out of the chocolate chews. as for the jello, jello is GREAT for your hair and nails under normal circumstances. I am not sure how much of the gelatin good stuff is absorbed post op but i could never keep nails prior to surgery so i think its CRAZY that i can grow them and they are strong and what not... as for me not being near the big hit with the hairloss, OH BOY. i was shedding a week or two ago. it hasnt ended completely BUT i can say i dont have any bald spots or anything lol. so im ok with it so far. I just hope my eye balls dont go bald that would be SO WIERD! lol!
