| What is better for me - Water or Tea ?
Hi everyone!
OK, I'm glad this section is called Stupid Questions, because I feel stupid asking this.
But what's better for me, (more healthy) drinking water or tea? What would be more healthier for me, and help me lose weight?
I currently drink alot of sodas. That's pretty much all i drink from the moment I get out of bed, to the moment I lay my head down on the pillow. I probably drink about 10 a day.... which is about 9.5 too much. So, I am making a change. I don't really like water, but I can drink alot of it when I'm thirsty.
I know tea has alot of antioxidants (what are those anyways?), but to make it taste good, I need to add sugar or sweet n' low... which is exactly what I'm trying to cut out of my diet. So any advice would be very appreciated. Thank you!

Water is ALWAYS best. It is the life renewing fluid of the body. That said, not everyone loves it. Soda in any form is out from what I understand after WLS. Also, not all teas are especially helpful. We are supposed to stay aways from caffeine after surgery and tea is loaded with it. If you are going to drink tea, I would suggest decaf or green tea.
Have you tried Propel? A lot of people swear by it. I am a water drinker from way back but I even get tired of only drinking water. Once every day or two I will drink a big bottle of Propel instead. Some people will drink Crystal Lite too since it is sweetened with Splenda now.

I LOVE THE FRUIT 2o WATERS, ESPECIALLY THE GRAPE. THEY ARE SWEETENED WTH SPLENDA ALSO. I EITHER DRINK THAT OR PLAIN WATER. AT FIRST IT WILL BE HARD TO DO BUT AFTER A WHILE YOU WILL GET SO USED TO IT YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY FIND IT PART OF YOUR DAY.

well I haven't had any surgery's... not yet. I'm still contemplating whether or not I should do something like that. As of right now, I'm thinking I'm not going to, because I've lost alot of weight on my own.
I have had propel... It's ok. Nothing Special. I do like those vitamin water's, but they are too expensive to drink all the time.

water is far better then tea.
THE caffine in tea actually dehydrates people
\and usually you would have to have more to balance
things out some.
I drink everything sugar free but i know further out for me
i watch my artificial sweetner intakes they too can cause
stalls for people.
GOOD LUCK

You could be a natural water hater. Yep there are those who cant stand water. Yes its better for you but if you cant drink it.......find somthing along those lines you can tolerate. I have been testing the waters to right now so to speak. I love water, however Im not keen on what I call City water. One I have found that has a decent taste is Aqua Cal. Honey If your like me you gotta shop around. Just buy one bottle and go from there. Did ya know that COKE has bought the company that started making Vitamin Water? The brand vitamin water is just plain nasty to me. So your gonna have to buy one bottle of what ever and decide what you can tolerate. Im a Dr Pepper fan. I dont drink as many of them as you do but I do understand your problem.
Im so bad.....If i dont have one a day.....its like a smoker without cigarettes !

I am a natural water hater too. I have already switched to decaf tea so it won't be as difficult after my surgery on 7/23. I love saying that ---- my surgery on 7/23...... Well anyway... I will miss my diet cokes.... but I have started cutting them out already. Don't want to have to much withdrawal.

just make sure IF you do the propel that it's the NO SUGAR one the regular propel has corn syrup/sweetner stuffs in it. just like gatorade. icky gatorade.
crystal light and similar powders help a lot to sweeten water using a very little bit if you need. Crystal light DOES have carbs so it's not a 'freebie'.
a lot of people do soda after a year or so..it's just not the best rehydrator. Like Doc says---the malabsorption includes fluids too not just food! Gotta pay attention to what you put in that is best to keep you hydrated!
