No you're not.
You don't feel hungry because your sensation there hasn't returned yet. Actually, although there are some who feel the hunger pretty early out, for the majority, it seems to return around 6-12 months post op, so if you're the average post op, then you won't feel hungry yet.

As for being able to get in fluids more than solid food, that is because the fluids will leave the pouch quickly because the stoma--the opening to your intestine--is always open. As the stoma is less than half an inch in diameter, solid food gets "stuck" in the pouch for a while, while the liquids will pass through. This is the reason fluids with meals are a no-no. The fluids will wash down the food that should stay in the pouch for a while longer.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Kenya I was afraid too to do things and go out but I bought a portable cooler thingy. Like an insulated lunch box thing. I carry my water, some protein and etc.......I take my blue cooler everywehre with me. That way I always have it on hand. My kids laugh that I always have it with me. I sometimes have the protein bars in there, a cheese stick, a bit of tureky breast and always always have water in it. Works out well.
Ive also mastered gong out to eat too. I do eat chciken alot or fish. but so far all the restrautns Ive gone too are very accomodating. I tell them what I need and its not a problem. The good thing is I have leftovers and I get like 4 or 5 meals out of a meal. But so far so good.

I'm thinking maybe i should have worded it a little differently. the two q's that "worry" me the most are the complications and whether or not i will enjoy food again.

In terms of complications I mean anything "urgent" or that may kill me in my sleep? lol! I mean like those pulmonary emb thingies or blood clots and what not. I know hernias and gall bladder issues can arise, but those can be corrected. I just wonder if its ok to sit back and relax at this point? i still have so much anxiety....

In terms of whether or not i will ever enjoy food again, i mean will it ever be less mechanical? right now i focus on eating on a schedule, and on chewing so that i chew well, and what sensations i feel when im eating so i dont over eat. so i'm having trouble imagining a time where i could just enjoy food in a social setting again.

is this wierd? i get the feeling no one else felt this way?

In comparison with "normies", you probably will have a somewhat higher possibility of something happening to you in that way than a person who's weight has always been pretty much within the normal range, due to the damage that was done during the years your weight was high, but much much lower than had your weight stayed at where it was.
That said, I think the probability is lower than being struck by a car when crossing the street, so to speak. So, relax.

You'll probably feel better about this after a year or so passes. A lot of things will become habit, and you'll do stuff without thinking, and give you more time and opportunity to enjoy other things, because a lot of your actions have become automatic, and are done without thinking.
