Question TOM and energy issues

Sorry. I dont mean to exclude the men but I need some input from women post opers, pre-opers can participate too lol!

Ok so I am feeling EXTREMELY drained. It's my TOM and I am TIRED TIRED TIRED and bloated. The funny thing is that I havent gained any weight as far as the scale is concerned but my stomach area is "full". This is the first month since the strawberries that I havent gained 7-10lbs lol! But I am SOOOOOOO tired.

I've been doing my regular routine as far as protein and supplements are concerned but I feel like I need a boost. I could literally sleep all day but I have a 5 year old so it isnt an option. Any ideas? Is there something I could eat or take to give me some energy? I'm really dragging........

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Kenya,

I can so relate! I have my TOM too and for the first time since surgery. I feel just like you describe, I could sleep all day! I have a 5 year old too and you're right, not an option. I am wondering if my Iron or something else is low?

Well, I just had blood work done and everything seems good so my dr says. I just think it takes an EXTRA toll on us for some reason. I havent been able to find a medical article specific to this so I am hoping someone has a suggestion, because its so bad I'm thinking about taking some vacation time this week just to stay home LOL!. I am just WIPED OUT lol.

DARN PMS blows.
I am always VERY wiped out before TOM post op.
AND the killer for me is it comes every freakin 21 days
so i feel im lways PMSy.
I think after surgery we really watch things like
a hawk in our bodies and notice everything.....
i know for me at my max weight i was ust always
tired so i proly never saw i was worse just before
TOM.
I know we worry of every little ach, tired or anything
post op so i thik ur just being more aware.
i know aside from PMS time i dont require nearly
the sleep i used to get at 310 lbs.

Well, I don't know a thing about post op, but I can say that I am always wiped out at that TOM! I just always feel like I can't get enough sleep!

Just a thought, but for me, I tend to really crave sugar-y/salty things at that TOM, so maybe you post-opers feel even more tired because you aren't eating those things anymore??? Sugar at least gives me a little boost when I'm feeling dragged out, even if it is short lived.

Oh boy, I can relate to both issues!! I spotted for the first two weeks post-op, then went right into TOM----I bled for 3 1/2 weeks. No wonder I have no energy!!!

I'll have to see what happens in a couple weeks with the next one---I can't wait. LOL

LOL. you know what Lanie that happend to my friend who had RNY as well. She got her (.) for 31/2 weeks for the first 3 months post op. I WOULD JUMP OFF THE HIGHEST ROOFTOP I COULD FIND IF THAT WAS ME lol!

For me, the surgery regulated my cycle which is great, I'm just drained...Thank god it only lasts 3 days now!
