Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I eat all froms of pork... i found when cooked moist and tender it goes down well. EARLY out bacon gave me the runs but now it doesnt. I do pork ribs (falling off the bone juicey) pork chops pork roasts and do fine. ONLY time i have had a problem was with chinese takeout pork dishes..but i think thats in the MSG of something they cook with cause all that take out from the chinese takeouts disagree but i keep trying and trying!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | you know what you;re absolutely right about take out....the msg and the grease always set me off i think. the runs from bacon??? really??? i've never had that post op at all. hmmm. i havent tried all this time because i was scared that i would hurt myself being that it wasnt on the list. but i think i am going to be adventurous tomorrow and make some smothered porkchops. I'll use the campbells low fat cream of mushroom soup to smother them. i need some type of sauce or gravy type thing with all my meats for some reason. they dont sit right without them.... now, when you have ribs, do you use bbq sauce? im scared it'll make me dump.... |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I was only able to start eating bacon about 3 weeks ago. And only a piece at a time or it upsets my tummy. And I do fine with other forms of pork as long as its moist...the same with any meat |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | the funny thing is, about a week or so I was CRAVING it like crazy. And ive eaten it without issue. I think someone mentioned it might be the loss of fat driving me to eat it?? i dunno. the wierd thing is high fat makes me dump. so the bacon has to be drained REALLY well in order for me to eat it. and i can only eat 2 slices lol. pre-op i could eat close to a whole pack.... |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | a tip regarding pork meat products..make absolutely sure it's NOT sugar cured ..a lot of people seem to have problems with pork and I always wonder if that is the key to it. I used to have probs with bacon until one day shopping I was actually!! paying attentiong and noticed that what I'd been buying was sugar cured. Well when I bought the non-sugar cured..no more getting sick off bacon.sugar it's evil and hidden everywhere!! ![]() -bree

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I eat bacon and pork with no problem. I make my bacon on the george forman grill so that its not so greasy and it comes out great. THe pork i have only tried it one way and thats baked in the oven with a little lite italian salad dressing on it to keep it moist . I dont have the chops often but when i do i do fine. The bacon however i do have often and no problems either. LittleLisaMarie |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I was told that I could start eating pork in the 6th week. But I was also told to stay away from bacon because it is "pure fat". As for the barbeque sauce----I looked on atkins.com for recipes (my husband is on Atkins) and found a recipe that's sugar free and easy to make. I throw boneless pork ribs in the crock pot and throw the sauce on --8-10 hrs later, perfect meal! My husband loves it. I'm actually going to try them tonight--my first attempt at pork----wish me luck!!
