| Super Moderator | Yes, rice will make you dump. It's a major carb food, raw rice about 77% carb, and cooked rice 50% carb. Many post ops stay away from rice because they don't deal with it well. (((((((HUGS)))))) Resting is the best option.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | MOST surgeons tell patients to stay away from rice for six months ... i know i didnt have it for almost a year.......to many carbs for me. AND i also worried of it swelling up in my pouch and hurting too

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Kenyar, don't give up try again in a few months. I can tolerate small amounts of rice.. also remember lots of people can't handle pasta either... just trial and error next time try brown rice |

| Just so you know, Rice a Roni IS white rice. It is just souped up with lots of herbs, seasonings, and a ton of sodium. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Yep, it will do it! I have had very small amounts of rice on a couple of occasions, with no problems but I stay away as a general rule. Sorry, you had a bad experience. Roz

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Kenya I would probably have done the same thing. Espcially cooking for the kids and etc.... Why not taste a bite and your thinking what can one bite do right. Not that Im glad this happened to you but you have shown the way for me who didnt have a clue about the rice. So now I know. |
