My nut and doc told me that I should not try to go for feeling full as it wouldn't feel the same as it did pre-op. They told me to eat until I no longer feel hungry. Well, don't know about you, but I don't feel too hungry even at my scheduled meal times (only 5.5 weeks out). So my nut suggested that I eat the recommended portion and then if I feel like I need more to have 1/2 of that for a second portion. She also said that if I hadn't finished within 30 minutes that it was enough and time to walk away. I hope that helps! This is all so new and challenging isn't it! Good luck. You can do it! Amy

yes thats a good rule of thumb. its still VERY early though ashley. if you think about it this way: you are not trying to achieve that FULL feeling, you are trying to feel satisfied. like you had enough. sure you could eat more, but have you had enough? thats what i used to ask myself and still do sometimes because i still dont feel hunger....just a thought. you're doing fine though. as long as you are not getting sick, and you arent in pain after eating you are fine |

NO early early you dont get the full sensation and its best just to stop eating before you over do things.... WOW....your fortunate the egg did fine. i know for me it would have to have been the egg w/ lofat mayo to get it more like a pureed food not the egg. GLAD it went great and wow to being on pureed already! THE egg mashed up proly was two table spoons. JUST eat small this early out so that your staple line heals with no added stress to it hugs ur doing great

one more thing i forgot to suggest: im a little nervous about you trying chicken AND veggies so early. You just started purees right? how about trying just ONE thing to make sure it sits right, like JUST the chicken for now. and once you get in a routine of it and tolerate it well then try the vegies with it?? i just dont want you to hurt yourself |

Ashley, Good luck with purees. The thing my nutritionist was very particular about was that things had to be the consistency of applesauce. Other than that they weren't too strict although they wanted us to stay away from high fat and sugary stuff (of course)... They said someone had actually pureed pizza once....
