Glad to hear you are better. I think you just over stressed your body somehow. Basic testing times to make sure you are okay, first thing of a morning --- Fasting glucose test; and then 2 hours after you take your last bit of a meal -- that will tell how your body handled the food. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I know that after my surgery when all I was drinking was water and a little sugar free jello my body was stressed enough my was staying around 225. It is now down in the low 120s to 140. And that is with a minimal insulin dosage. I was using 35 units in the mornng and 55 units at dinner time before to keep in the 120-140 range. Yeah..... I haven't had a shot of insulin in 4 days.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I feel great. It is a relief. Hopefully, I will get to come off completely along with other meds.

Hey kenya I'm happy to hear you are feeling better. My doctor suggested that I test my blood but I'm not sure that my insurance would cover it and I don't know if I can afford one. Didn't you tell me that you get some of the same symptoms that I do and that it was actually a sign of dumping? Can Dumping cause sugar issues I wonder. I also wondering if my problem may be similar as yours. I wonder what my sugar is when I have my episodes and if it's really going up then dropping out. I try to drink alot especially in the heat but my pouch dosen't like to have more then a few sips at a time. Do you ever feel like it takes forever to drink a glass of water? My kids tease me that my cae swishes when I pull up because I open a bottle of water and it gets hot before I can drink it so I end up putting on the back seat( because I'll put it in the fridge for later, which never happens). So I did call my surgeon today and I have a follow up on the 28th and she is having some extra labs done when I go in. So I hope to kepp us posted about how things are going for you.

yeah i am sure im NOT diabetic, but i dont fully understand how all this meter stuff works. You can google free glucose meter online and get one for free. thats what i did. it came with lancets and i bought a small box of test strips for like 20 bucks. but i am sure if its something you need to do regularly your dr can write a script and you wont have to pay for anything outright. its good to know.

i really think that whatever was wrong with me was related to fluids, and me not having enough. because i sat and drank cold water all night and everything cleared up just like that. swelling is a definite sign. but i am still going to test just for the heck of it.

Thanks for the information Kenya, I am so excited about finding this site because no matter what I'm going through there is someone who understands. Wheather it is a health issue or a question,or weather it is more personal there are others going through the same things. I do know that with blood sugar fluids do really make a difference. I had a client who was diabetic do to being injured in a car crash when she was young. When her sugar would go up our instructions were to give her a glass of water and wait a certain amount of time and then retest9 out of 10 times it would bring it down considerably.

My doctor did want me to test but unless I was actually diagnoised with a sugar issue such as diabetes my insurance won't cover it.

Sue
