Default Thanks To All

Thanks to all for your advice and comments. So tell me, how hard was it in giving up sugar and starches. My most favorite things in the world is sweets and potatoes. The food restriction was it hard to get use to? Does it make you feel funny knowing everything on the inside is different and how about muscle mass? Do you lose alot of muscle? I have always been strong and don't want to lose that. I know it must be great looking in the mirrow and liking what you see. I have been overweight all my life, but these last 15 years has been the worst!!!! I am 260 now and hate even thinking I have to look at my self. It seems like I just keep gaining more weight. I have been considering this sugery for the last 5 years, and I have already went to 2 sessions so I know about both surgeries I am just not so for sure about the low blood suger!!! one more question how long after surgery did it take to go back to work and kinda get back into life? Thank you all for being so kind and letting me rammble .

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

to be honst i didnt even have an urge to eat any of the stuff i ate pre=op...and still dont for the most part. food tastes different to me, and i rarely get "hungry". i was allowed to have mashed potatos as a "meal" when i moved to puree phase. I wasnt restricted from that. sugar i dont even long for. i wasnt a sweets kinda girl.

as far as knowing my insides have been what i like to call "re-routed" i still feel the same as i didnt before i just cant eat myself into a coma lol! well i can but it takes WAY LESS to fill me up than before.

as for the muscle mass, i dont think i had any of that to begin with LOL!

Thanks for your reply. What is the scariest thing that you have gone through? I live in a very small town and it takes two and a half hours to get to the docs office.

i would say yes. ive never had surgery being "put under" before. and i went in by myself as i have no family here. so yes, i was scared, but it was something i HAD to do. if you have doubts, i would say dont do it. dont do this unless you are absolutely sure.

i drove as soon as i got home (dont tell) lol!

My daughter was with her dad the first week and then after that we were home together. i was able to care for her and everything. i didnt have much pain at all which i thank god for everyday.

i went back to work at 5 weeks post op because i was going stir crazy. I would have gone back sooner but my doc wouldnt clear me. and in retrospect i wish i stayed out another 2 weeks home or gone back part time at first just because i was SO TIRED when i resumed normal activities. it seemed very overwhelming at first. you think while you are home you have all this energy, and then once you go out and start a regular day you are pooped by the evening time.

um...lets see what else...i went outside the same day i was released. i went for a walk. i wanted fresh air after being in the hospital for 3 days. i didnt walk far. just up the street and back. but as the days went on i went further and further.

i'm doing ok. the emotional part is the hardest for me and thats not something that cant change overnight.

no not at all regarding the bathroom. ive never had bathroom issues. ive puked maybe 3 times in the entire 3 month post op and it was because i didnt chew properly, and i have NEVER had bowel issues.

lol! you can ask whatever you want here someone posted about farting last week. we share just about everything lol! ask whatever you like. if i know or experienced it i dont mind.

Hi guys!

I am only 8 days post op but here is my take, so far, on the bathroom.

I drove an hour to the surgeons office sipping water. Pottied when I got there. I was at the surgeons office for 3 1/2 hours, sipping water. Then I drove an hour back home. Pottied when I got home.

Tonight I ate something I know I shouldn't have and within a few minutes, I used the pottie and stayed there for quite a few. It was sudden. One minute I am checking email and regretting my food choice, the next I am running for the bathroom, holding my cheeks tight.

If you follow your Drs orders, I imagine what happened to me just now would be less frequent.

This was also a concern for me pre-op because I drive over an hour to and fro work daily. Dr said typically patients experience the opposite, not being able to go.

Write all your questions down. Take them to the surgeons office and ask away. She helped me make an informed decision that I could be happy about.
