Yes Jerry its gonna depend on your surgeon. Some leave them in a few days. SOme will leave them in a few weeks. The hardest part is acutally taking time to empty them out. And of course making sure there pined or tape up not to interfere with you everyday stuff. Im not supposed to have one to come home with unless they change there mind and decide to leave it in.

I had them in the hospital only and I never really paid any attention to them. When they took them out, it was kinda weird, but no pain. I didn't have to bring themhome with me.

My surgeon leaves it in for a week after surgery. It was kinda a nuisance trying to find clothes that it wasn't obvious, etc. Felt weird when he pulled it, not painful but I culd feel it up in my chest coming out.

It depends on your surgeon, I did not have any. When I asked about them pre-op I was told they no longer use them as a general rule, just if it is absolutely necessary.

I just had it for 2 days in the hospital. He said it was to watch what was going through my pouch and if it became discolored that would be the first hint of a problem which thankfully I did not have. Yeah and it was weird when they took it out. Strange sensation but not painful. Mattie
