OK. this might be considered stupid but let me ask asnyway. I have noticed that since WLS I have acne. Face and body at times. Now, I know this surgery screws with hormones and what not, SOOOOO do i have zits because of WLS??? anybody else experience this?? who knew i would revisit puberty

oh my gosh, i have the same exact problem, i went to my Dr. and they gave me acne medication, it is horrible. i have bumps all over my face. i thought it was just me.

whats worse is i get them right around TOM so i feel like i did when i was 13....awkward. but i think its hilarious!!

I don't have any of those, TOM's haven't for about 13 years, first it was a side effect from a birth control i was taking, but i quit taking the birth control after the surgery and still no TOM, totally not complaining, hope they never come back. LOL.. i just have the bumps all the time, by the time some clear up, i have more. LOL, i was taking biotin, maybe i will start taking that again, it is suppose to be good for hair and skin.

I am no doc or anything but remember when we were all chatting about TOM and how since surgery and how the fat is stored in our estrogen or something like that. Does estrogen have something to do with acne? maybe thats why since we are sheddign the fat?? Knock on wood, but I dont really have it that bad. I always get one pimple or zit as my daughter says . here and there but its rare. So I could be totally off but just a thought.

yeah i mean i dont have a pizza face or anything. i usually get ONE on my face somewhere ridiculous. this month RIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES!!!!!! LOL!!!!!! but i have gotten a few here or there on my upper chest and upper back (yuck) and i was just guessing its hormone related. i cant wait for doc to come in and explain this one. i thought i was DONE with zits lol!!!!

Well, with the fat melting, the estrogen stored there is overflowing all over the place. That's why contraceptive pills don't work, they are out done by your own hormones. Puberty all over again is a good expression, you know, ladies who haven't had TOM in years see them come back too, not everyone, of course, but here and there. You're regaining your youth, so another thing to be happy about!
