Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Well something I ate for dinner yesterday didn't agree with me so I and and some more. Once my pouch settled down I tried some jello and and some more. So I just went to bed. Woke up around 3 am and was feeling much better so I drank some crystal light and checked out the boards here. Went back to bed around 5 am. When I woke up at 7 am, I couldn't stand the pain in my upper left side. I took some pain med but it didn't help much, so I called the surgeon's office. They told me to go on full liquids and they would call me back this afternoon to check on me. Well the pain is alot better, hardly noticeable compared to the 7 or 8 level I had this am. The surgeons office called this afternoon and they are ordering an upper GI for tommorrow morning, they were going to scope me if the pain wasn't better. I don't understand what happened this morning to make it hurt so bad when it was fine until I sipped on the Crystal light. But glad my surgeon is going to check on it and not let it slide by. Anyone else have these symptoms? If so, what was the outcome. Did I just make my pouch very grouchy?

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Sorry to hear you are feeling so bad! I'm actually a little scared to try anything for fear it will upset the delicate balance in there. Hang in there hon -- know that there are lots of people here to support you and by all means go see your surgeon.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | LadyHawk. You did the right thing by calling your Dr. So they are doing the scope then? Its best that way so they can make sure. This is the best way i have come to understand a Stricture. You know how you get a splinter in your finger. Most of the time you can get it out. But sometimes you have to let it work it self out or so we think. Our bodys belive it or not knows when somthing isnt right. When there is a foreign body in it. So what your skin does is .....it starts to push it out to get rid of it thus making it easy for us to get a hold of it and pull it out after a few days. The tummy is the same way. Its been living its way a long time. So when the Dr cuts it off and makes a new opening.....it knows that opening isnt right. In turn its trying to heal it self shut. When it does that then the Dr has to go in with a scope and fix it. Did that come out alright? LOL. I have to explain this daily when instructing parents about there child getting ear tubes put in. The drum will treat it like a foreign body after a while and acutally push the tube out........which is a good thing if its been left in long enough. If not we have to go reinsert them. If they dont come out on there own we have to go in and get them out. So our bodys do know when somthing is up. Most of the time its a good thing, in our cases with a WLS and strictures.......well its not so good. Be glad they know what to look for and how to fix it. I hope your feeling better today. |
