I am finding that I really can't and don't eat much. For example: 1 oz of cheese and 2 triscuits fills me up. I mean FULL. to the point where the last bite could literally put me over the top and make me now, i havent gotten sick as of yet. but you know how one more bite could just send you in that direction?? thats how i feel. and i feel like small meals like this arent even worth eating to be honest. as for meat, I have mentioned before that i can only eat a few ounces at once. 2 ozs MAYBE 3 ozs depending on the type of meat, and thats it. no veggies, no carbs, i just focus on the meat because the protein is important. with that said, i dont think I am eating enough. I am only 4 months out. anybody else remember eating this little at this stage? how much should i be relying on shakes at this point? i was honestly contemplating adding a second shake back into my day just because i have my doubts as to whether or not i am getting in enough protein and or calories. thanks in advance for the advice! |

I am still finding it hard to eat enough and I am almost one year out. I do however try to still get the protein in but having a rough time of it unless I drink a protein shake. I find myself also sticking to certain foods. It like I get on a kick of one kind of meat or mainly cheese and I live off of that. So far so good as far as the weight loss and staying healthy, with the exception of my hair loss, but as from my post you replied to, I have learned that it might not be surgery related. My doc told me that if I find it difficult to eat, I can still utilize the shakes. Hope that helps. |

I was told when i had the surgery that my experience would be different from others, but it's amazing how there are more alike than i could imagine. I have literally cried some days because I didn't want to eat, but I know to lose the weight and not get sick i have to eat. That would have never happened a year ago. I never passed on any food. I ate anytime, anywhere. Just stick to trying to eat the protein. My doc told me not to rely just on the shakes, but they are a good tool. Now I wish they just had protein that came in pills.. NOW THAT WOULD BE A WONDERFUL WORLD. |

4 months out, your pouch is still trying to feel its way in the world. I wouldn't worry about the amount you are able to, or not able to, get in, because I haven't yet read anyone posting that they can get in 4-5oz at the stage you are. I think 2oz or so is pretty much the average. It also is around the time your pouch starts getting that full feeling, which is a good thing. The amount that makes you feel full will go up an oz or two, but that won't happen until you are at least 6mo out, so there's some time yet. Just stick to the basics and you'll do fine. Keep the Qs coming, that's what helps you keep on track, (((((((HUGS)))))))

no its not. its true. im there all the time. today was i cant eat much day, guaranteed by next week i will be a bottom less pit lol! happends all the time. its not in your/ my head and also, since we cant eat a lot at this stage, then it is ok to rely on shakes for the protein? i dont want to take a step back, but im worried om not eating enough, on top of that i am exercising harder....i dont really know how to do this lol. |

Kenyar way until the near 3rd year out I ate like that. I just ate more often up to 6 times a day. But that was also when I was really busting the weights & running so I would also drinks shakes to get my protein intake where I needed it. So unless you have a pretty high rate of exercise ...just keep up with what you are doing. You are doing good girl. Give yourself a break hon! --bree

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Kenyar- I have had the same thoughts. Some days I feel like I'm literally starving myself even though I'm following my doc's protocol. I have been stalled, scale-wise, for about 2-2 1/2 weeks and this morning I was up 2 1/2 lbs!!! Go figure. I'm starting to walk and ride my bike more - maybe soon it'll show up. Just think, in a year we'll look back on this and be reassuring others...... |
