my daughters father has not come to get my daughter for visitation since we moved to CT. It will be a year in November. mind you it is a 30 minute ride from where he lives in NY. I GAVE HIM a car (my old one that was sitting for 2 years) FOR FREE and he still will not drive up here to come get her. I had the discussion with him tonight that I need a break and he needs to start coming to get her on the days the court says he is to have her. WOULD YOU BELIEVE HE ASKED ME TO PROVIDE THE TRANSPORTATION????????

I went thru the roof. Now, I know I am having hormonal issues and all but i mean COME ON. Why should i drive her to NY to see him for the day and then drive back to get her? Am I crazy??

Heres where the conflict is, If i dont do it i wont get a break....so im kinda screwed arent i?

do i suck it up and just drive her, or just keep her with me and forget i ever asked him to take her so i could have a break?

Well In My Opinion I Wouldnt Want My Daughter With Him Because If He Has No Desire To Come Get Her Then He Doesnt Want To Be With Her Bad Enough And What Does That Mean For Your Daughter. That Would Just Totally Turn Me Off!!!!!!!!!!!! Break Or No Break I Wouldnt Want My Daughter Around That Attitude.

I Hope Im Not To Harsh Kenya But This Is An Important Subject Because I Have A Daughter But Thank God Im Still Married And He Is The Best Dad . The Other Thing Is I Didnt Have A Good Dad Growing Up So Thats Why I Feel So Strong On This Subject.

yeah i hear you. but damn...im tired. i know i shouldnt put that above everything else. I KNOW he isnt going to hurt her or anything like that....otherwise i would have to kill him LMAO! no but i just got really MAD because he does nothing all day and doesnt even help. you know if he would just watch her ONE DAY a week while i worked it would help me out....he doesnt even offer anymore. i guessi should just suck it up and take care of the situation on my own. i can do it. im just so darn tired...

i didnt take offense to anything you said at all, my dad wasnt wround either so i know what thats like. the weird thing is like she completely forgot about him. she doesnt even ask about him anymore....and we've all lived together for a while before i left last winter...i dunno. maybe its best to leave things the way they are.

My Mom Was A Single Parent For Many Years! Since We Were Young I Think I Was 5. My Mom Would Not Let Him Around. Plus If He Did He Would Have Excuses.

I Do Admit It Was Hard On Her Until My Step Dad Came Into The Pic Many Years Later. I Feel For You Kenya Because I Look Back At My Mom And I Feel So Bad Because I Know It Was Hard On Her. Which I Never Realized Till I Was Older.

My Dad And I Ended Up Reconnecting A Few Years Ago At First I Was Hesitant But I Did Notice How Much He Changed And How Much He Wanted A Relationship With Me And Im Glad We Did Reconnect Unfortunetly We Only Had Like 5 Or 6 Years With Each Other Because He Ended Up Passing Away 2 Years Ago. My Brother Never Bothered Reconnecting With Him I Guess Thats Because My Brother Didnt Even Know Him. He Was A Baby When My Dad Left.

Maybe Your Right Because If He Doesnt Stay Committed To Her Because He Dont Feel Like Picking Her Up Then She Will Just Be Let Down Again. Dont Open Her Up For That. I Know I Was Real Hurt As A Child And I Remember My Dad Promising To Come Get Me And Never Showed And I Sat By The Window For Hrs. It Affected Me Most Of My Life

i dont remember each of my parents when i was younger to be honest. my mom was a single parent with two jobs and somehow managed to get her masters degree at night...and my dad just wasnt around. i tried for a while to keep it so that it didnt end up this way for my daughter, but im tired of being the only one that "remembers" today is a visit, or so on....i dont get how you could go a week much less MONTHS without seeing your own child. if i didnt see my daughter everyday, regalrdless of how bad she is, i think i'd die...
