Ummm...not really sure. Sorry I don't know everything.
Well, I think it will continue throughout your life, actually...it probably has to do with your changed plumbing. Your stapled off stomach is empty all the time, and it could growl because it's empty, or it could be your intestine passing on stuff and gas.
Just my guess here. |

If it *died*, you are going to be in BIIIIGGG trouble, because that means that it is going to rot within your tummy.
It's *alive* because the blood supply hasn't been cut off, the only thing the surgery does is make the stapled off portion disfunctional. |

OH...i guess i dont fully understand what all is going on in there. I mean, what is it attached to? if the intestine was brought up to the pouch...i kind of imagine the bottom part of the stomach is just floating there *scratching my head* silly i know but i dont think i understand.

No, it's not *floating* because it is till attached to your pouch. The pouch is just divided from the rest of your stomach by the staple lines that block it off, so they are actualy still one *item*, hanging together.
The intestine connected to the lower stomach is attached to lower part of the intestine that is connected to the pouch. Hence the "Y" letter shape, of the "Roux en Y".
