Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hey. I have noticed that when i stall out on the loss, if i eat something a little higher in fat it kind of gives my body a boost and jump starts the loss again. I assume thats because im "tricking" my body into thinking its ok to let go. i guess my question is, is this a BAD thing to do? i dont feel like i will get in the habit, because fat sometimes makes me queasy, but should i NOT do this? am i hurting anything? all advice welcome! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | many diets say to do that. ATKINS has a refeed plan for when u stall out. BUT a real stall is one that is truly 4 to 6 weeks. BUT it holds on the to the fat out of instinct for starvation so when you start to give it a little more it gets releived that its not staravation mode and starts to let go again. I think i explained it right. but good luck hey what ever works and keeps those little bumps small when the evil scale dont move

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Yep GUILTY!!!!! As a matter of fact, just last night my sisters and I went out to eat, and I got fajiata nachos. I ate the beef and onions, and some of the chips with the white cheese. Yep, lost!!! We just can't do that all the time though. But every once in awhile, when the scale isn't moving, I will. Then I go right back to "plan". |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | That's interesting to know. I had heard of friends that go on vacation to those all inclusive all you can eat places and they come back weighing less. I thought it could be because they were eating more of the good stuff but provably is the other way around, they were eating more of the bad stuff (fat) and that starts the weight loss again. I'll try it.

| Super Moderator | Just as with carbs and protein, there are types of fat that are called "essential fats". "Essential" means something that your body can't make within the body. They are mostly the basic particles that make up the complicated protein and fat. Carbs as well. That's probably one of the reasons, upping the fat for a very brief second works. The body starts worrying that it won't have the supply of the "essential" stuff that it needs so it will hold on. So long as you keep the stuff in control, and go back to the regular program once you are on your way, it's fine, and it won't do any damage. The only damage you need to be careful of, is to go back to eating high fat stuff all the time. So, as always, everything in moderation.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I go thru times of craving...... sometimes I crave nuts....salads....certain veggies....etc. I believe it's a way that my body is telling me what it needs and what it is deficient of....or needs. I've noticed I do a version of this when I am not losing weight - and like you Kenya....I begin to push off that island! Just for the record...I really stay away from ALL fast food...and don't go back there. Even this summer when we were back in Texas driving near and around the fast food restaurants...we didn't do that....I refuse to put processed foods in my body. (Not only b/c I don't think it's easily broken down w/in my body...but I just don't like the way it sits in my pouch...and it's never a guarantee that I will not make a refund - so why waste the $$...or energy!) that's just me.... Thanks for sharing and starting this thread....
