Default Too much water?

I have always heard/read that more more more water is very good in terms of weight loss.

This has never been my experience, and I am wondering why.

For example, I've been on a bit of a plateau, so I decided to increase my protein, decrease carbs (the few crackers I might eat), and double my water consumption. I don't salt anything and I don't particularly care for salty food.

This morning I was up 3 lbs.

It never fails. Every single time I increase water intake, I seem to retain it. And if I continue to drink a LOT of water, days in a row, the scale moves up even more. Then when I decrease water again, it (the scale) will start behaving again.

This seems to go against everything I know and have read about water consumption.

Waddya think?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

hmmmm....not sure. I know we lose the weight via urination (it flushes the fat cells away that we burn), and I would think increasing water would be a good thing....

Perhaps Doc will come along with some advice!!

It may have to do with being post menopause.
It also may be, your kidney function or your heart function is a bit slower due to age, though it may not turn up in the lab numbers. Make sure to have those functions checked out the next time you have your blood labs. done.
