Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

i never read anything that said X amount per week or month or what have you. i have been all over the place never losing the exact same amount over a given period of time. there were weeks where i lost 5 or 6 lbs and weeks when i only lost ounces. i would be interested to see what doc has to say though...

Yeah Im curious too what Doc says. I know that everyone is different depending on how much they weighed and how tall they are. I know Lisa once did a comparison of her and Shelley and in the end they lost the same amount.

Well, basically, if you have more to lose, you usually lose *faster* so to speak. The rate of losing, as in how many % of the excess weight probably is pretty close for everyone when calculated accurately.

The usual equation given is that you will lose half of the excess weight you carry in the first 6 months--but not in one smooth fell swoop but in waves, mind you-- then 1/4 in the next 6 months, and the last 1/4 in the next 6-12 months. In other words, you probably will lose about 75% of your excess weight over the first year, and the rest over the next year, and your weight will probably level out at around 18-24 months after surgery.

If you want my honest opinion, then don't even count how many lbs you lose per week, per month, nor try to calculate from the past pattern where you will be in a week, in a month, because it sure ain't gonna move that way.
If you stick to your surgeon's instructions, you should be able to lose willy nilly, so let your body work on its own schedule, don't stress and mess with your head by trying to figure out how much you should lose when, because if your body's schedule is different from the schedule you think you should keep, that is going to mess with your head and won't do you any good.

Doc that last line in your post is so true. "that is going to mess with your head and wont do you any good." This whole process does mess with our heads and I have learned to take each day as it comes and do the best I can and follow directions from my surgeon. I feel that alot of all this is all up in our heads.

yes...my head thinks I should be a size 3...my body has a complete separate agenda!

I am 7.5 weeks out and down 43 pounds....roughly 5 pounds a week....I don't know if it will increase with the exercise program I just started or not. I expect it to slow down. When I went in for the 3 week follow up right after surgery, I had lost 25....so really only 18 more pounds in the last 4 weeks....he told me I was on the high side at that time....I guess it varies from person to person...depending on how much you have to lose, where you start from etc!
