Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Has anyone else had to go back in for exploratory sugery after your bypass. I'm freaking out. I have had some problems with pain in my pouch area. My Doctor has sone a few test to check for gallstones and my appendix and for kidney stones and she hasn't found anything. Sometimes when I eat or drink i get really bad pain I'm talking so bad I can't stand it I have trouble bretheing or sitting or standing it is horrible pain I have called my parents to come take me to the hospital. But it passes really quickly in about 30 minutes. Which makes me feel stupid. I live 30 minutes from the hospital so if i wait for someone to get here and then take me i wouldn't even get to the hospital before it subsides. After talking to my Doctor she said she wants to go back in to see whats up. She said that there may be scar tissue that is cause my pouch to twist. She is going to use the same incision sites she used the first time to go back in with the robot to check things out. I was just wondering if anyone else has gone through this because I'm scared. ![]()

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I have not had any problems but someone I know from another board had surgery the same month as me and has been plagued with constant pain. She spent 51 days on and off this summer in the hospital. She had to take pain medication just to be able to eat. Finally this week after a scan the doctors think that they have found the source of her discomfort. It seems her old stomach has fused to the lining of her abdomen and they are going to have to go in and remove scar tissue and such. She is happy to hopefully find a solution to her misery. Roz

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Thanks everyone for your support. It is scheduled for november first. It shouldn't be too bad.She is doing it as outpatient surgery. I am going in on a thursday and she said that I should be able to go back to school on monday. She said because she is not cutting anything that recovery should be easy. But it's still surgery and what if she dose find somthing then what. I'm working and going to school and i'm getting divorced and I'm leaveing my husband at the begaining of october. So I'm going to be a single Mom. Hockey is starting the first week in october and thats 3 times a week.Iamstressing about how i'm going todealwith this. It scares my kids too One of these attacks came on when I was at home alone with my kids and I was screaming in pain and crying, my 8 year old freaked out and he called my mom and dad. I don't understand why this is happening because i feel so much better and I don't have this all the time. Sometimes it last for like 3 days sometimes it only happens like 1 time in a week. I just thought someone else might have delt with this.

| Super Moderator | ((((HUGS)))) Looks like you are having a tough time in many areas, hang in there. I am sure some of the things you need to deal with, will work itself out for the best. Your surgeon wants to find out if there is 1) adhesion 2) hernia 3) torsion 4) stenosis. Adhesion occurs with any surgery, the membranes that surround the organs stick to each other, or stick to other organs, or stick to the abdominal walls, resulting in limiting the movements of the affected area. Hernias are the intestines sticking out from a weak area of the abdominal wall. Torsion is the intestine twisting around itself, cutting off the blood supply, and so the affected portion of the intetine dies if it's bad enough. Stenosis is the narrowing of the intestines due to adhesion among other things. Also, with a great amount of weight loss, the fat that was stuck to the membranes and the abdominal wall have melted away, leaving air pockets that the intestine can work itself into, and get stuck. Keeping you in my prayers for the surgery.
