Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | our surgery dates were pretty close, and I have noticed I can take bigger sips of anything if it is iced. Water without ice is the hardest for me, with ice, it goes down better, my husband says the colder it is the more you open up for it inside?????!!!!

| Super Moderator | How much is one "gulp" for you? You will have to keep in mind that your pouch is now much smaller than your mouthful. That means, you will not be able to have a mouthful of something, and swallow it whole, now, whether you are still only a few days out, or are a few decades out. That said, the sips will become larger, and you will be able to swallow more easily than now, but not to the amount that you did pre op. However, that pre op mouthfuls and gulps are what got you into trouble in the first place, so, would you really want to go back there. It's a tough journey, and has soooo much to do with changing your eating and drinking patterns forever, rather than not being able to eat much right now because it's only several weeks since surgery. It's tough, but hang in there, and soon enough, you will feel that everything was worth the trouble. ((((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well.
