Why one day i drink something, even something like plain spring water and it is fine to me, on the pouch and tasting , then the next I can not stand it!!!!Fluids have been an ongoing issue with me, not getting them or keeping them down, just tolerating the taste.I spoke to my dr and they sd just keep pushing what you can tolerate, but this is getting really depressing...

I have had the same problems with things you just have to remember youre still healing and the body is going through rapid changes so the pouch feels good some days and not so good others. Just hang in there it will get better!

awww yep i had the same issue. not with fluids though. but i went thru it in the soft moist phase. and it sucked. it was VERY frustrating. also i had a wierd taste going on in my mouth for MONTHS but i got past it. you will to. just keep thinking: there are brighter days ahead. this is just a rough patch. hang in there.

I noticed at first that my sense of taste was heightened - I could differenatiate the separate ingredients in a food, like I could taste the salt, pepper, butter and potatoes in instant mashed potatoes. It was like each taste bud was reporting to my brain what it could taste, and I didn't get the blended taste of the food. Anything "fake" tasted horrible, only real foods tasted good. I'm now a month out and it's not as strong but still don't like anything fake: like fat free cream cheese - it doens't taste or feel like cream cheese. YUCK! I think this is why a lot of people mentioned that they can't do leftovers. I take one whiff and they go straigth into the trash. (Unless DH is there to snatch them back and say he'll eat them, LOL) I'm hooked on water and freshly brewed tea. I don't much like coffee anymore, and certainly not the decaf. I don't like any of the crystal light or other products you can use to flavor water. I would suggest trying a wedge of real lemon to flavor your water and see if that works. |
