Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I listed my goal weight as 160lbs. I am 5'8 and Id say solid frame. Im not pettie, or alteast I never have been. I dont know what my actual goal weight is? I just want to feel healthy and look good. I can never remember being smaller than a size 10 so I figure that would be a good size to be. I was 305 b4 surgery and Im down to 233, im in month 4 post op. I dont want to look sucked up or unhealthy, anyone know what a good size or goal weight would be for someone 5'8 with a medium frame? Anyone else have issues about this? |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | HONESTLY my surgeond goal was best for me.... and thats were my body stopped looseing. FOR My body build being at 167 was fitting in size 8 jeans and that to me \ was an ideal size for my structure. I am 5'5 and 46 years old. I always thought when i was in my first year i wanted 10 more lbs off but my body stopped there and i can live with this size. I never imagined being under a 14! hugs see as you go what the numbers look like\ and make mini goals for yourself. thats HOW I DID IT. FIRST goal getting under 300. then to loose my first 50 then to get under 250 then to make my first 100 lbs then to be under 200 and worked towards those mini goals first. then when i was under the 200 i figured out what was right for my body frame! GOOD LUCK

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | yes I dont have a certian goal weight either. I put one down in here but I dont really know what my goal weight. Like Boots said, my surgeon said I will know when I get there. So I too would be happy getting to a size 10. That is my goal in my head right now but who knows. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I originally went for 145....but I would take anything between 150-160...I'm just under 5'8'' and when I was younger, I was around 151. This put me into a 6 or 8 jeans...which I'm fine with and would love to get back into...I am realistic about it...I'm 42 years old and I've had 2 kids...I know I will never look like I did in high school! I always heard the rule of thumb was start at 100 and add 5 pounds for every inch over 5 feet...that would mean 5'8'' would be 140. I think for my frame, that would be too thin....I think there are averages; but it's also about where you feel comfortable! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Lisa, I think you are plenty thin for your current size and I'm about your height so I'll just use your wt for a goal (actually I listed 170 from the start) My "head goal" for my ideal wt would be 150. I cant imagine me at 125 - I flew past that at around 9-10 years old! |
