Question Sleepy

Heey this is almost the end of my 3rd week starting on the 4th week. Thank God my wound finally healed and today I took off the plaster. There is a very minimal discharge but it's OK.
However, I still feel drained and sleepy in the middle of the day and need to have a nap (10-11AM) if I didn't quite sleep well the night before. And I was wondering how can I start getting back to work with this need? Although my Doc is willing to extend my sick leave for one more week, but I dunno I feel bored at home!
Puzzled, please advice me.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

well, i'm not sure about this in Kuwait, but here in Canada there are studies proving that naps during the day actually help employees to be more productive with their time. it is said that a nap of about 20mins will refresh you. i know that there are a few companies in canada that have a nap room and allow employees to use it once a day for about 30mins. Where do you work? would your employer be mad if you fell asleep at your desk, or are you on your feet the whole day?
i'm not a dr. but i think that it's probably normal in those first few weeks to feel sleepy, your body has undergone a major intrusion and even though the wound is healed it may take more time for the inside to heal and adjust.

It's true, there was a study here to that found a short nap of 15 minutes or so during lunch break actually improved the productivities of workers and students. Not longer than 30 minutes, though for it seems to make the sleepiness drag on, and reduce productivity instead.

chuppygirl! it really took me a GOOD 6 weeks post op to rid that drained feeling....and the need for a 1 hour nap. SO give it time your healing. JUSt
because that outside is healing over nicely your insides are still healing!
PLZ listen to your body!
SOMETIMES tireds come from dehydration so as long as your fluids are as best as can be for your stage im sure this is the normal healing tireds. I am also sure if the vitamins come that will also add back some energy!
ALL the best

Girl...I am soooo with you!!

I too am not feeling TOTALLY normal in the 'energy level'....I can tell that it is getting better, but not 100%.
I know that I have to keep going...I'm back working now...I have to get this house on the market...and we have to start the packing b/c I only have about 3 weeks to finish this process b/f we leave for our Vacation to TN & NYC....

I'd say...give it another week....even though you are bored...enjoy this time with Dana and Jude!! Soak em up!!! Enjoy this last week. Even if you are OFF of work...that doesn't mean you can not "go out"....or take the girls to the park...a play place....you still will be resting at times that you would not be able to when you are working....

WOW....you are drilling vertically and horizontally....YOU are an amazing industrial woman! YOU GO GIRL!!

Hi Chuppygirl - good to hear from you, I've been really busy working extra hours and soaking up my family time as I'm only two days away from my op! and that means leaving my amazing family behind for a week - boohoo! The longest I've spent away is 2 days so at this stage I'm fretting more about that than the surgery! Great to hear your wound is looking good, and take the time to let your body rest honey, it's been through a lot. It's great to be able to put a face to the name with your picture on your avatar - you are beautiful and so is your baby! I'll talk to you post op!

DEB!!!
YOU sound like you also have alot going on!
PLEASE dont overdo.....even though you feel
fine your still going to be healing on the inside
for the NEXT few months. HERNIA's can
be gotten very easy from over doing while
the insides muscles are healing, then you will
be limited to what you can do.
REMEMBEr like I told CHUPPYGIRL listen to your
body and rest when it needs it!!!1
ALL the best

Thumbs up

Thanks Lisa....
I do think this weekend WORE ME OUT...but, now we have "officially" listed the house!!! WHOO HOO!!! There is a SIGN in MY YARD!!! whoooohooo!!

I'm very thankful...relieved...and hoping and praying that our house will sell...and fast would be great. I know that everything will work out - I just would be soooo thankful if miraculously this house would sell before we go on all our travels.

NOW....I can take it MORE easy than I have in the last couple of weeks.

:::::::::sigh:::::::::
