I was just wondering, how long out is it that you can have breads? I'm not big on breads but just wondering if that's something you pretty much give up forever.

I am 15 months (wow) out, and I eat bread but very very little and only once in a while. When I do I chew chew chew basically mush, and I only eat hot french bread from wally world. I do find that tortillas help with my bread cravings, we have a little mexican place that has the best tortillas, so I keep a couple in the fridge and warm em up.

Same here!! Wraps for me when and if I do eat them. I am too scared that I will fill up on the bread.

I have had a 1/4 piece of toast. Dry. It was White Wheat bread. I put a tomato on it to make tomato toast. I made sure it was full of the tomato juice. They seem to think dryer stuff dont go down so good so all of mine right now is juicy. See I asked my surgeon what he thought about it. He told me It was not much different than crackers. If you can tolerate it. He did ask that I not go over a half a piece a day. I wont be doing that. I did it to satify a craving for tomato toast I had. I know right now I would have to have it toasted. Perhaps later not toasted but right now I dont trust the softness of it. I have no idea if this helped or not but mabye so. |

I don't plan on eating it. I was just curious. If/when I do, I will eat the low carb wraps. I wasn't big on bread even before my surgery. It wasn't ever one of things I felt like I had to have. I guess that's a good thing.

Christy, I was kidding with my post! I have bread... ON occasion. I stick with whole wheat, and I toast it. I don't have it very often, and I miss having hamburgers WITH buns or sandwiches. I've tried to avoid it mostly (along with other WHITE foods; rice/pasta/potatos) because of the carbs! Doc says untoasted, it can ball up and block the stoma...! |

It just isn't worth eating to me right now. I can't hold enough of the things I'm suppose to be having right now, much less any bread or wraps.
