Default Cycle (for the ladies only)

This hopefully is not too crazy of a person, but how regular is your cycle after surgery? I know everyone's body is different, but I have always been very regular. Is this going to be different? If so, does it ever return to being normal (before surgery schedule)? Thanks for any information.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Thanks Lisa. I did notice that when I had to do my 10 day liquid diet before surgery, I started 11 days later than my regular date (this ended up being a good thing because I didn't start in the hospital, but started the day I came home from the hospital). Anyways, the 20th is my regular time to start (when I was regular) and here it is the 23rd and no sign of it yet. I just didn't know how soon it would be before I started my cycle or how irregular everyone is after surgery.

Sorry for the rambling.

Well my gyno said to be prepared for things to get wierd. I said, oh no not me I am very regular and always have been. Well now TOM comes early all the time, like every 22 or 23 days and its so much heavier now. Bad. But gyno said to expect this due to estrogen being stored in the fat cells. sooooo yes things are different.

i don't have them. it used to be a side effect from the birthcontrol i took (depro) but i quit using it after the surgery, but still nothing, so i haven't had one in 14yrs, i am very worried it will come back though, i really hope not.

Thanks, ladies.

Lch, if you haven't had one in 14 years, I don't think I would worry about them "coming back" now.

Mine was fairly normal before surgery and seems to have returned as normal after. Of course, I'm perimenopausal and hoping it would all go away anyway -- but I guess with the surgery I sorta need that normal shot of hormones!

It's quite normal to change patterns, and be irregular to boot.
The one thing that you need to be careful of, is pregnancy. Since your hormones are going wacky, you can expect the unexpected, and hormonal birth control will be totally ineffective, you must have an alternate method to rely on.

Doc, speaking of birth control, my husband is driving me crazy. I don't mean to be personal, but since the surgery, I have had absolutely NOOOOOOOOO sex drive. Is this normal?
