Exclamation High Blood Pressure after WLS? 109/110

I just had my 1 week Doc visit- and he is ecstatic over my weight loss (236 pre op, 205 today) and my diet, healing, and walking routine etc.
I FEEL like a milion bucks

ANyway, Doc took my BP (BEFORE WLS i averaged 120/80, AFTER WLS i was 110/70) and i figured it was still like the same bp as when i left the hospital just a WEEK ago-- 110/70, but i was surprised when my BP was 109/110!!

WHAT is that all about?? Doc said no worry, but i have never had such a high # on the bottom like that.. is this really normal?

Do i need to take something to lower it?

thanks

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hmmmmm i had the opposite problem. Had high blood pressure and now its really good and Im off my meds.

Maybe you had the white coat syndrome they talk about or maybe you were rushing and were stressed or somethign. Sometimes that can raise your blood pressure.

Mine was high on my first visit...not sure why. It's always been really normal, so I'm anxious to see how it is on my next visit in a couple of weeks!

i wouldnt stress the one reading high.
COULD you have been anxious to see
what your loss was? that it caused it.
I would start monitoring it at local
stores that have machines. THE weight loss
will bring it down hard to say what triggers
thingS.

i GOTTA phone dr ahmad today.
SO when is the next meeting?
they are now open to all i never knew that?
does he rotate between st charles and mather anymore?
let me know so i can try my best to make the next
one to meet you.

hugs

Default Dr. Ahmad meeting- Nov 13, 6:30pm

He has his WLS meeting the 2nd Tuesday of each month at Mather.
Hmm, maybe he stopped the St CHarles ones? Or maybe St C is just where he has his seminars to explain iot to new people that are researching info? Not sure.
Yep- even though it is 98% bypass and banders (just seeking info or pre/post op) , there are also supporters of WLS ppl, as well as ppl in the a few ppl that have done "traditional" (non surgical) WL and they meet with all of us to

Well, the BP machine may have needed fixing, unless you have posted the numbers wrong.
I have never run across a reading where they diastolic pressure (the lower pressure) being higher than the systolic pressure (the higher pressure) .
I'd take your dr's words and forget it for now, it could be just a temp thing.

I think it's either posted wrong or something like that..

but if your numbers are 'narrow' usually, if I remember right from medic classes, that means you are dehydrated?
