Exclamation Does anyone take Prilosac? Doc told me to-- HELP!

my doc told me "as a preventative" (even though i don't have acid reflux) to take 1 prilosac (omeprazole) every day for 90 days. he said it is to reduce acid in my new pouch... but i don't have any acid (i dont think)-- so i am thinking to NOT take this drug that has serious side effects..

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

NYGAL take it.
DR. ahmad has probably changed
his guidelines here from my surgery
to yours. I developed a bleeding
ulcer at a little over a year......
so this med for 90 days prevents that.
PLZ do as he says....

as far as kidney stones it comes with rapid weightloss.
I didnt get any. I also took that actigal pills to
protect my gall bladder from stones during
rapid weight loss.
when i had surgery he only required tums
4 times a day. and i know he must have
revised this from patients developing ulcers
as i did.

HUGS>.....now back on thread topic.........
i have seen that guy on the shopping channels
and is vitamins but i guess i can t afford the
high priced supplements so have stuck with
what my surgeon recommended. Was it the right
choice or not who knows. 2 years out im getting
deficient now so who knows!

I say take the prilosec, even though you have no problems, keeping the acid down in the pouch helps with the healing of your stitches and the swelling, and the sooner you start healing up in there the better you will feel.

NYGAL, I also say take it. My doctor has had me on protonix which is for acid, he said I will be on this for life to prevent ulcers. My GP put me on protonix years ago because I had alot of problems with acid reflux, and ulcers. So far so good for me.

As far as gall stones, I do know alot of people get them because of the rapid weight loss. Luckily, I had my gall bladder removed years ago.

Please do as your doctor (same as mine says).
THE side effects are rare!
BUT the problems your new pouch
can have can be far worse.

I think if i had been put on it i would
have never goten my ulcer at 12 months
out that required me to close down my business
to have an emergency scope. Wasnt worth the
scare of throwing up coffee grind colored stuff
that scared me.

HOPE your will do as your instructed!!!!
