Default Dumping! I got questions!

Stupid questions I have about dumping:

How long after your surgery did you have your first dumping episode?

How long does a dumping episode last?

What things have triggered YOU to dump?

Have any of you NEVER dumped?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

DUMPING is a very difficult thing.
BECAUSE we all experience it a bit differently.

this post might help you on dumping....

http://www.renewedreflections.com/fo...oglycemia.html

the statistics i read else where on dumping is 60 percent dont dump
and 40 percent dont. I dont dump but i did not mess with this till well
over a year. I knew if i did and found out i didnt dump i would eat
what i shouldnt.

HOPE all this helps
hugs

i dumped the first day home. i ate a regular jello instead of sugar free by accident. i only had a bite and i began to sweat profusely. that was the entent of it. most of my episodes have been mild i would say. i ate some fruit and my ears got hot LOL! but ive never been bedridden or had to lay down or what have you...at least not yet KNOWCK WOOD. LOL! i would say everyone responds differently.

I've avoided most of the things they said would make us dump...anything high in sugar or fat.....I did have some restaurant refried beans that made me dump (I'm assuming because of the fat). I was probably a month out when it happened....you only have to do it once to learn what to avoid.

Now the foamies are another animal...I never truly know what will cause those....they kinda sneak up on ya and make ya puke!

I have not experienced dumping. However, I have tried to avoid everything that can cause it (sugar and fat). I had refried beans in a restaurant to day and I did fine. I think everyone will react differently to foods. I just avoid sugar at all cost!

I just envisioned myself being on a date and whatever I'm eating causing me to dump...ha! I'm trying to learn what to do to prevent things from happening.

If you're dumping...is it really visible to someone around you or can you "hide" it?

I have never actually puked. My mouth waters and I get the dry hevs (sp), sweat and just feel icky. The only one thing I know for sure that does it is potatoes of any kind.

I dumped the day I got out of the hospital. I was staying at my cousin's house because she lives near my surgeon. She gave me cranberry juice (diluted, of course) but come to find out later (when I was in agony, feeling like I had the flu) it was cranberry juice cocktail, not straight 100% juice.

Lesson learned. Don't trust that anyone else is really giving you the right thing, even if you've told them. I've managed to avoid it pretty much since then (except for one tiny little pumpkin treat last halloween)...darn sugar!!

Knock on wood I can say I have never dumped. I am 6 months post op. But everyone is different. I am deathly afraid of putting any surgar in my body. I think
they instilled this in me during all my classes and etc...before hand. But I have read on here that not everyone dumps from surgar. I do know others who dump from carbs. Best of luck to you.
