Hi there, Im just under three months out . I lost over 50lbs but have been having trouble keeping solids down and my stools have been like coal. I went back to the hospital for a flurosocopy and they think I might have stricture. At present Im waiting for the results of the tests. In the meantime, today I feel achy, cold have diarrhoea and my stools are like clay in colour and consistency. Feel really down |

Hmmm, that means your poo isn't getting the pigment that colors the poo brown. How exactly do you feel achy. Because gray poo sometimes mean blockage of bile passage due to gall bladder stone, or acute pancreatitis, which will prevent you from digesting the fat in the food, so the fat is passed out, making the poo look gray, since fat is basically white/whitish yellow. You had best call your dr, and tell him/her of the gray poo and how you feel today. (((((HUGS))))) Hope you feel better soon.

When you say your stools have been like coals, do you mean they are hard as rocks, or black as coal? Because "black and tar like" indicates internal bleeding!

I have the same problem, but I was under the impression that it was from all of the Iron that I am now taking. I guess this is something to address with my doc tomorrow at my 3 months follow up.

Hi all, Sorry I havent been on before but I havent even had the strength to get to the computer! Ive had two days off work and things have got worse in that time. I have been feverish with achy limbs, a complete lack of appetite (I havent eaten ANYTHING since Sunday of this week and even then I brought it straight back up), a sickly feeling all the time that puts me off eating anyway. My grey poo has gone but has been replaced with projectile liquid diarrhoea. At the start of the week I was 279lbs and today Im 268lbs. I fainted twice (although I didnt lose complete consciousness) on Wednesday when I got up too quick to answer the door. I have been in contact with the hospital and they say that I will have an endoscopy, probably next week. To be fair since August 21 when I had the op, I have not enjoyed ONE day of it. Not even losing the weight is doing it for me at the moment. I just want to be able to eat without having to THINK about it every moment of the day. Sure I wanted to lose weight but at my heaviest I was NEVER as unhealthy as this. |
