Question How much food will i be able to consume and how much weight can i expect to lose?

I am heading toward 1 month (nov 15) so i am wondering, about how much food might i be able to consume in 1 sitting? Right now i can eat almost a whole jello snack cup- roughly 4oz. For heavier foods such as farina, i can handle about 1/2 a packet of a prepacked amount (like a packet of oatmeal in size).

Also how much weight (on average) do WLS lose in the first month? In the second month?

* I am just wondering if i am on target. I know it is different for everyone, so i am just seeking an average of sorts.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

There Is No Black And White Answer To This. Everyone Is Differnt. When I Was A Month Out I Couldnt Even Finish A Jello, I Didnt Eat Much At All And Had Complications Thats Why In The Begining My Wt Loss Was So Slow My Body Went Into Starvation Mode To Save Itself I Was Told. But Now I Am Finally Past All That And Losing Wt. There Are Some On Here Who Had A Healthy Appetite After Wls And Others Who Didnt.

You Are Doing Really Great

The standard reply for weight loss is, half of your excess weight in the first 6 months, a quarter of your excess weight in the second 6 months, and the last quarter from past the first year, to 18-24 months.
Some surgeons may say 10lbs a month is good, keep in mind, 10lbs every month for one year will add up to 120 lbs, so that isn't too shabby.

That said, don't fret about numbers, either for your pouch or for the scale. Go by the flow so, and keep to your surgeon's basic eating rules. That should do the job.

Hi Francesca Im surprised your nutritionist ( if you have one ) didnt give you a diet on how much you can eat right after surgery ! I havnt had my surgery yet and Ive got my diet plan already ! Actually she has my diet schedule laid out up to the time that I reach my goal weight ! Even after that ..shes got what she calls a maintainance diet to keep me from gaining ! Im not complaining actually ...Im already down 45 pounds and believe it or not its helped me get my surgery ! My Drs are impressed...they say that its shows that im serious about it ...which I am !! So thats my advice...see your nutritionist...they do wonders !!
