Default I have 2 stupid questions

1) I have this really weird thing about hot (spicey) food. In fact, the week before my period I crave it. Jalapenos, habaneros - season with cayenne rather than black pepper. Obviously this will have to go - but forever? Will I ever be able to eat spicey food again - or will it maybe be one of those tastes that just goes away?

2) I have of course read of dumping and as something that can happen sometimes, but after all the reading I've done, it seems like it is more the norm to do these things than not. Does everyone experience dumping at one time or another? Does everyone at one time or another. Of course, I'd like to think I'm the exception to the rule, but is there such a thing? Are there some people who just never have a problem or is it just part of the package.

LOL - I just kind of picture a cat with a hairball. You know, it is just a cat thing.

Anyway, thanks for your input!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I have not been told I couldn't have spicey foods. I have never dumped, but have thrown up, just tonite as a matter of fact! I had ONE BITE too many and it can back up on me! Usually it happens because of that or not chewing good or eating too fast.

Well now, that is something to look forward to! LOL - Honestly, I'm a bit scared of the thought of puking - at least at first, becuase I woulnd't want to dislodge anything. The idea of that just terrifies me. But I'm really more worried that later on it will upset my son or my boyfriend.

How do you deal with it around family and friends? Of course, it isn't going to happen to ME - LOL, I just want to know...hummm, I just want to know for my sister-in-law. LOL.

Rachael,it is so funny that you say that about hot and spicy foods. The easiest thing for me to "stomache" is chili, the hotter the better. My hubby made it when I was about two months out and I thought "yeh right, chili",but WOW it was good and left me with no after probs. I have had it since then too and it was even hotter and it went in just fine, and I have a real hard time with most foods.......... As for "dumping,I dont think I have ,but I have thrown up a few times, esp.if I eat too fast....take care...thumper1

Okay then - as long as I don't have to give up spicey. I can give up anything else - chocolate even, but not my spicey!

Count me in!!!

Just Because Your Doc Says You Can Have It Doesnt Mean Your Pouch Will Like It. You Just Never Know What Can Happen When You Have The Surgery. The Foods I Used To Love Taste So Different To Me Now And Alot I Dont Even Like Anymore Or My Pouch Lets Me Know It Doesnt Like It

I have had some spicy foods, but not that much. I have never dumped or thrown up. The only thing i can say is try it and if it doesnt do good, then youll know and you can try it again at a later date.

I dump on Pizza, but not mexican food....go figure LOL

You get adjusted REALLY quick to things, and when the foamies hit, you politely excuse yourself to go YAK!

And yes, there is a percentage of people that NEVER dump....I'm kinda glad I'm one of them...it keeps me in line!
