Question why do we have to puree?

if i chew, chew, chew... then why puree?
is it because the doctors worry that we might not chew good enough and then we can clog our pouch?
*of course i will puree-- just wondering though.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

you are still healing, and "tough" foods could damage the staple line until they are healed better.....Plus, it's easier to digest if it's already broken down some!

Because you have been only on liquids for a while, so you need to get your pouch used to digesting thicker foods. It has to be done in stages.
With any situation where you are npo-no oral intake for any reason for a while, you start out with liquids, and the food consistency is upped stage by stage, though depending on the original reason, your food stage may be upped every meal, or daily or take a while longer. Since you have staple lines that need to heal, and your body has to reset everything because the effective area for accepting and digesting food has been reduced to your pouch, you have to go through the stages.
Think of babies. They start out with milk, and are weaned stage by stage. That's what your pouch needs. You have a baby pouch, and you need to nuture it, and wean it from liquids stage by stage.
