| Foamies or what ever !
OK I need some old school help here. I tolerate food well. I haven't come across nothing I cant tolerate so far. But, i have a problem.
When getting up first thing in the AM i feel very empty. I can actually feel this. The pouch feels flat. So I drink something. Usually a few sips of water. Most of the time it goes down fine and within about 30 mins i try to eat a little something for breakfast. Alot of the time this goes well and I have kicked off my day and do fine.
Some mornings aren't so good. I get up drink and drink a few sips of water. Within a few mins Im bringing it back up. This hits me so fast I barely have time to make it to the bathroom. Sometimes Its the kitchen sink. I throw up NOTHING ! I call it dry heaves. I think yall refer to this as foamies.
This has been one of those mornings. Except this is twice now. Yesterday everything I tried to drink felt like it was at the top of my throat. I only had a couple of teaspoons of tuna salad and 2 very small pieces of cheese. I thought OK I have drank Alot of water today so that is probably the problem. I didn't want anything to eat in fear of throwing it up.
I will pay attention to my self with this to make sure I don't have a stricture coming on. My question is do any of yall have trouble getting up in the AM and then have a bout of this? I have to start back to work on Monday part time. Im scared to death of this happening on the way to work or something. I work a hour from my home. This feeling is So sudden you really don't have time to think when it happens. If you do have this happen what do you do to calm the tummy down some? Any advise I can get from this would be appreciated.

ok. in the beginning i had a problem with my firsts. whichever was the first thing to hit the pouch in the morning gave me a hard time. i didnt throw up, it just felt like it hit my pouchy like lead.
msvickie this does not sound like foamies. foamies is puke but its literally like foam (at least for me it was lol!) call me crazy or overly cautious, but this sounds like the beginnings of that stricture situation. is it everything you take in since this happend first that is not sitting or does this happen occasionally or only with certain foods and drinks?

Hi,
I also had this problem with alot of problems with dry heaves. I was put on Protonix...it was actually gastritis, I thought it was a stricture too but it was not. Take care of this quick. I waited too long and ended up in the hospital. Then it took a while to get the gastritis under control. Hope it gets better.

MsVickie, do document every time this happens and let your surgeon know whats going on, I was two months out when I started having problems, my lower intestine twisted preventing me from keeping anything down. Hopefully this won't be your case, and could be just a little quirk in the beginning that you are experiencing, but remember, keep your surgeon informed. Hope you out grow this soon sweetie.

| My pouchy doesnt like mornings. The first thing in may or may not sit well. I typically start off with a very small sip of room temp water (cant tolerate cold at all) then another sip a few minutes later, and so on. I work my way up to a cup of coffee, then instant breakfast and food at around 10am. Hope its just a passing thing for ya.

When I got the foamies I knew why...from not chewing enough. Doesn't sound like that is the problem for you. Sorry I can't help...I suggest that you talk to your Dr. Good luck.

I have never had foamies from drinking, it has been food that has always caused foamies. I think I would call Dr. too.

Ms Vickie I Have Had Foamies From Drinking Before And Had To Pull Over While I Was In The CAR Many Many Times. Try To Drink Somthing Hot In The Morning To See If That Will Help.
I Truly Hope Its Not The Begining Of A Stricture. Take It From Me You Dont Want That!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In The Very Begining A Stricture Could Be Tricky Because Somtimes You Throw Up And Somtimes You Dont Till The Stircture Gets Worse And The More You Throw Up. If It Is A Stricture You Wouldnt Have Dry Heaves You Would Actually Throw Up What Ever You Drank Or Ate. You Can Take A Sip Of Water Or Even Food And It Will Feel Like Its At The Top Of Your Throat Sitting There And That Feeling Doesnt Go Away Till It Comes Back Up.
Good Luck Hun And Try Drinking Somthing Hot In The Morning And See What Happens.

I have never gotten that feeling in the mornings, it is usually at night after or while I am eating. Sorry you are feeling so bad. I hope that it gets better soon!
