Cool I had WLS but i feel like i had TASTE BUD surgery!

What's the deal?? I LOVED pizza and taco bell. i loved anything with red meat...

In fact, i was flat out obsessed with taco bell-- i would actually go out at 3am to get my fix.

Sooooo-- today i decided to get me some taco bell-- so i ordered my "usual" 3 soft taco's (1 beef, 1 chicken, 1 steak) even though i know i won't eat it all, i didn't care i just wanted to taste it again.

Then I went home and scrapped out all the insides... (it's only a few oz in each taco, of food).

I then took a bit of each type of taco and placed it in a bowl, and then I happily sat down to eat it.

WELL AFTER ABOUT A SPOONFUL I THOUGHT I WOULD .

It was the most aweful thing i have ever tasted!!

Yesterday i tasted a small piece of a slice of plain pizza-- same thing. YUK!

Oh and also, i had a taste of a meatball (i'm italian and been eatting these for 37 years) and some whole wheat italian bread, i hated that too!!

What Italian hates meatballs and bread??
I'm ruined!!

LOL!!

I seem to only like red meat if it is in chili or in other food-- but not by itself as a main food. I digest it fine, belly likes it, mouth don't.

Seriously, what's going on? Will this last?

And to boot-- I'm liking things i never liked before, i crave water all the time, i really love all sorts of veggies now, and i crave FISH?!

I HATE FISH!!
lol

AND my cravings for sweets has totally disapeared too...

I'm NOT complaining, i mean i am so much better off not eatting the taco and pizza... but why did all this change too?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!! Yeah. As inspirational as all the weight-loss pictures here are, THIS is what I really need.

I can't wait for the day I don't like pizza or Taco Bell (though I'm not a big Taco Bell fan other than anything with chicken).

But yes, to crave water, vegetables and fish!!!

When I was pregnant, ALL I craved was fish - and jalapenos. I would eat fresh fish, frozen fish, canned fish - and jalapenos. I didn't care about ANYTHING else. Just fish - and jalapenos.

Interesting...my son is ALLERGIC to fish!!

And someone said I should have been arrested for child abuse for all the jalapenos I ate while pregnant.

Isn't it soon to be eating Taco Bell & pizza only a month out of surgery? At 4 weeks out I'll be finishing up on puree'd foods. Those are also both fat-filled foods...so they could cause dumping anyway.

If this is the reaction your getting good for you honey. I myself anything I craved I took a bite and enjoyed every bit of it. The one thing I want and absolutly cannot have is a nice ice cold bottle of regular Dr. Pepper.

This Might Stay With You Or Might Not. But I Agree With Nlg78 I Think It Is Way To Early To Be Trying Foods Like That Hun.

My Tasts Have Also Changed I Hate Scrambled Eggs, Plain Water, Fruit 2 O Grape Water (which I Used To Love) And There A Few Others I Cant Think Of Now. Oh God I Can Eat The Crust From Pizza And The Cheese But The Actual Doey Part Of The Pizza Makes Me Sooooooooooooooooooooo Sick!!!!!!!! Just Thinking About It Makes Me Nauscious Lol. OH AND CHOCOLATE AND PEANUT BUTTER DONT MAKE ME GO GAGA ANYMORE

Just my opinion, but I think our body knows what it needs and will try to get us to consume it by craving certain things. After the surgery we are so limited on what we can fit in that our body "rejects" anything that doesn't fit the requirements. So if I think of eating a certain food, my mind/pouch instantly says yay or nay. Sometimes I try to override it and eat the food anyway, and my pouch really growls about it and then will either settle down and say "Oh, that wasn't so bad" or it will make me pay for not listening to it.

I crave water now. Not juice, coffee, tea or any flavoring - just ice cold water.

I don't crave sweets, or pastries, or cookies or anything made with lots of sugar & lard.

I still want bread but I can control the quantity now - 1/2 of an english muffin, 1/2 slice of toast, 1/2 of a tortilla instead of bread in a sandwich.

I love fresh food - just cooked meats, fresh steamed veggies, fruit. Can't stand processed stuff.

With me, the better I eat, the better I want to eat. Once I eat something that is "loaded" (many times I don't even crave it...it was there and I used to gobble it) my fat and starch tooth starts to make noise. This happened before and after WLS.
