Talking 3 part stupid question...whoa!

ok. if i make a 20 ozs shake wth 50g protein and i sip it throught out the day, am i then absorbing all 50g as opposed to drinking it all at once and only absorbing 20 or 30?

2. is this considered a grazing behavior? technically nursing a shake is "eating" in small amounts throughout the day, isnt it?

3. darn it i forgot the third part...UGH!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I think you have a better chance of absorbing more of the protein...I don't think our bodies can absorb 50 grams at one sitting.....I don't know about the grazing part...I drink water all day....is that grazing??? LOL

yeah i know if i drank it all at once i couldnt absorb all 50. but i wonder if me sipping on it all day long is a bad habit?? i dunno. im trying to head off the "BEHAVIORS" that got me here to begin with. i was just curious if that would be considered one. I'm about to be done with the losing (i think) and i want to make sure i at least have the right ideas in place, ya know? im nervous about that.

I think the "behavior" of drinking a shake is similar to that of drinking water, you're fine. It's like with people who stop smoking they start chewing gum, sucking on suckers, etc...just to occupy their need for the previous behaviors. That's my two cents.

I agree with the ladies. I think your ok. Like drinking water instead your just drinking your shake and it has protein. Dont see why it would be bad. I too sip on water on day long. Yesterday I really pushed the fluids seeing that it was turkey day. I got up to 110 oz's in. But Kenya I think your ok. It will keep you busy so you dont want the bad things.

Kenay I Think Its Fine. Your Sipping On Somthing Good For You Not Bad. So I Cant See The Harm. You Cannot Absorb 50 Grams Of Protein If You Were To Drink That In One Hr So I Think The Whole Purpose Of That Drink Is To Drink Thru Out

I agree with all as well I would think that it would be better to sip it throughout the day or maybe over a few hours, I am trying to freeze one and make it like a slushy, then gnaw on that over time.

My doc says no, only no calories drinks between meals. Don't know why, but that is "his law"!

You could divide your protein shake in two and get them in as *snacks* between meals.
Since protein shakes do have some volume, it might be better not to *graze* but rather, take it on schedule to avoid trailing off to grazing habits.
