| Why is my weight loss slowing down?
I am 3.5 months out and my weight loss has slowed down tremendously. I have gotten a little off track, but not bad. I still have alot to lose and wonder if anyone else is having this problem?

| Morning knm!
Well, I don't really think you are doing anything wrong knm. In being a member of the site for quite a while now, it seems as though women lose a bit slower than men. Not sure why that is, to be honest. As long as, and I know you are not, spending your time in the wrong places, lol, you will do just fine. HANG IN THERE! I imagine it does get a bit frustrating though...not seeing the scale moving downward. I think you are doing fine. Be proud of your accomplishments so far. mike

Let's put it this way. From your ticker, I see you have already passed your halfway mark.
Now, the normal weight loss rate given as medical info is as follows.
You will lose the first half of your excess weight in the first 6 months. Then, in the next 6 months (in other words, up to one year) you will lose half of the remaining half--one fourth. You will lose the last quarter from 12 months to 18-24 months.
As far as the rate you are losing your weight, you are above that average curve.
Nothing is wrong with your weight loss, in fact, it is very good.
If you feel that the rate is slowing down, it's because the rest of your body is trying to catch up now with your melting weight. Your system needs to adjust to your new weight, make things safe for you, before going on into the next stage of losing.

I had my surgery about two weeks after you and you've lost about 10 pounds more so I'd say you are doing great, just like the Doctor said it slows down a bit while your body catches up with the changes.

I had my surgery 9 days after you and I am having the same experience, but we are almost the same as far as pounds lost. I get frustrated but I keep focused on the inches lost when this happens.
