Default 2 questions

1) When does the horrible stuck feeling go away? I have tried to eat beans twice now and both times I had to throw up to relieve myself.

2)Im always exhausted lately, is that normal? Im 5 wks out now and Im so tired. I want to exercise at night but have had a hard time most night.

Any suggestions?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

1) Is it just beans or do you have problems with other things? If it's just beans, your pouch may not be ready for them yet, even if your surgeon's given you the okay. If the stuck happens on a regular basis, regardless of the kind of food, you need to let your surgeon know that you are having trouble.

2) Since you are only 5 weeks out, you may still get bouts of tiredness. It also may be related to dumping--not the immediate kind, but the delayed kind, in which case, it is caused by inappropriate carb intake--you need to get protein in before the carbs. Check out the article linked in the thread "Bariatric Surgery: Post Operative Concerns." However, another possibility is some kind of deficiency--anemia, vitamins etc. Or, low blood pressure because your weight loss is bringing down your blood pressure but you are still on BP meds which gets your blood pressure too low (if you are taking BP meds) or low blood sugar if you had diabetes and are still on some meds--things like that. Again, check things out with your surgeon. You need his input to make sure nothing is wrong with you.

So far it is just beans and the one time I ate chopped meat which I wasnt supposed to do.

As for the exercise thing, I dont eat much carbs during the day at all. I have PCOS so I stay away from them like the plague. I eat only protein during the day and have a few soft crackers at night. The exhaustion has been sort of unbearable as of late. I think I am getting enough protein in. Maybe my BP is super low. I am on the highest dosage of Norvask and have not checked it in a while. I am going to from now on though. I take metformin for IR but do not have Diabetes, maybe it is causing low BS. I should probably check that too. Thanks Doc!

The Dr told my DH to get BP cuff that I could ck it myself and to have me monitor it frequently. I am off my meds now, but still need to keep an eye on it. Also, I was so wiped out for a while - didn't feel strong again for a good 8 weeks. Keep in mind your exercise doesnt have to be super strenuous - I started out with 3-4 short walks a day - some only 5-10 minutes. You really dont have to push yourself too much early on, you're still healing

that 'stuck' feeling is a prime indicator of a stricture. That's how so many started, it feels like something gets 'stuck' partway down or mid chest..see your DOC about this especially if you are 'having to vomit to relieve the feeling'. Often it starts with just a specific food then works it's way to vomiting liquids.

tiredness... well you had major surgery you know? You are still recovering from major surgery and excercise except for walking each day needs to wait until 6-8 weeks..in my opinion

hmmm...i guess it is a fine line between adjusting and the possibility of a stricture? i mean you COULD just be eating too much, or too much you quickly, or the wrong texture food. it's such a hit or miss early out. it can get frustrating as well. listen to your body and you will find your way.

as for being tired all the time, it could be your body adjusting or you could be dumping. what are you eating in a typical day? (just curious)

May I ask you a question...

Do you find it hard to loose weight because of PCOS.
