Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass   |  Question about pain and pain meds My doctor gave me enough pain medication to last me all of three or four days and thats because I wouldn't take it that often due to it was limited. I am still in pain and don't have any left. Am I suppose to be still in pain? Mind you I still have this darn drain tube hanging from me. Maybe something is wrong that is why I am still in pain. Should I call my doctor tomorrow morning?

| Super Moderator  | Yes, definately call your dr ASAP. It just may be that the drain is irritating you and it's time for it to come out, but one does sometimes develop infections, so you need to let your dr know. (((((HUGS)))) Hope you feel better soon.

Mine wrote it for the next days date......the pharmacy had to call them and he wrote it for one teaspoon only for the whole bottle? Needless to say he fixed all that when they made the call. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I called my surgeon today and at first they tried to call in my prescription but realized I had to have a hard copy of it. So now I need to figure out a way to get to my doctors office before 4:00 without taking public transportation. I think I am just going to wait until tomorrow morning when my husband takes me. I just have to deal with the pain. Honestly I just want to cry because I feel they should have thought about this ahead of time. The pain meds they gave me was not enough for two days. I was completely shocked when I got it. I made it last me four days. I took 1 teaspoon a day but the directions was to take it every four hours. Duh i would have been through with that in less than a day. Sorry all when I am in pain I get really cranky. Maybe I need to go for a walk. Thanks for your advice.

I understand the Hard Copy of the Rx. They have gotten strict on it. Pain is never fun. I hope you made it ok and watch the meds and call early for a refill if you need it. Im so sorry. |

But when you do go, I would see if the Dr. can just look at everything to make SURE nothing is wrong! I didn't have a drain, so I'm not sure about that causing pain or not.
