Default christmas gifts

My mom is soon going to undergo gastric bypass. I am fully supportive of her decision and would like to buy some gifts that would be useful for her future, what items did you find helpful for eating? She has given me some ideas, but I need some more, things like timers, what size pates and glasses would make it easier, and kitchen tools?
Thanks

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Baby spoons, little 3 ounce glad containers...I used those like crazy when I was on the pureed foods. I would also suggest the Magic Bullet blender...that is an amazing tool for a WLS patient! WLS for Dummies book. That has so much amazing info as well as recipes included in it.

Magic bullet for protein shakes and some other things for chopping and I love my sippie cup. I had a habit of gulping my water down and the sippie cup really is the best cup to drink water for a person who drinks to fast. I take my sippie cup everywhere. I had high protein pudding at the beginning and those puddings are high in protein and they go down really good.Small containers and I use small bowls for my food and chilie.

Yes the glad containers are great. I use them all the time. And the book Kim suggested is great. And like others say, small plates and little forks and spoons.

For her stocking she will be able to snack on Ice Breakers sours, there are three flavors, Mentos, only 4g of sugar, they have sugar free too. Dont get gum, if she swallows it a blockage could occur. for appliances, a handheld braun mixer so she can puree and soften cooked food. Get her a gift card to wherever she will be buying her vitamins from. Lots of glass ramikans or mugs, for her small portions.

I like dolphinlovers gift card idea, GNC is a great place for protein powders and vitamins, esp. the sublingual B12. Crystal Lite in any flavor, Diet Lipton teas in any flavor(plain water tastes strange at first), a nice robe(I lived in PJ's for weeks), non-slip socks(its gettin cold). It was so nice to have a built in bench in our shower, I would have never made it without it, if she has none I suggest a portable shower seat, it was hard to stand AND wash for very long and sitting helped SO MUCH.

Baby spoons, you can make it more personalized by getting her a silver one or have it engraved. I also use a little pewter baby cup. new digital scale. blender, or shaker for her drinks. A membership to a gym or maybe a few personal trainer gift certificates. abdominal binder, if the doc doesn't get her one(real life saver they are). A journal, so she can document her progress. digital camera, for all the new pictures she is going to want to take. a pretty mug with some exotic decaf teas. thats about it for now
