I too have just restarted regularly since surgery and weight loss, but what's happened on my first one since surgery is very heavy cramping. The flow is lighter, b ut the cramping is more than I've ever remember having. Is this normal or should I ask my surgeon or doctor about this? Thanks a bunch.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I had a lot of menstration issues post op and 10 mos post had a vaginal hystero done due to the horribly heavy flow and cramping. When the fat loss starts happening any hormones held in the fat let go into the system which makes for a lot of 'female' issues including VERY high risk of pregnancy! Even for those with PCOS so be warned ladies!

I'd not had a period in nearly 3? yrs post op and then man oh man...yikes!

I'd say go ahead and get set up with a gyno who's well versed in the post op issued for WLS patients.

Definitely check things out with both your surgeon and your gyno. The wacky female hormones, because tons of them are released during the rapid weight losing phase, will put all sorts of things out of whack, so you may not notice things that should be attended to. If there's nothing wrong, then you can ask your drs which meds to take to help you through the crampy times.

thanks Ladies, I will do that. They are considerably better today I'm glad to say and the flow is much lighter than I've had since my daughter was born. I'm very happy about that. Thanks for your help and input, I see my surgeon on Thursday and I can give my dr. a call to. Thanks.

I had mine 2 1/2 weeks after surgery, only a 2 1/2 week break, thank god not any sooner. You are so swollen down there and sore, the cramps "seem" really bad. It's like hitting a bruise, hurts worse cause the area is already injured. I bought liquid tylenol, that got me through. the stuff is nasty but it helped. and I needed less because of the new absorbtion going through your new digestive system so watch that too, a capful did it for me. I use to have to take midol, now I can't take that cause its an aspirin product and too hard on your tummy. Good luck!!
