I was wondering why I get your messages three times everytime they come to my email addy. It doesn't happen with anyone but you. Could it be sending them 3 times for some reason?

Oh Terrr.... I'm sorry...I don't think I'm doing anything different??? I'm just posting one time...I think there was only once that I double posted...but Doc was sweet enough to "clean that up" for me??? When you say to your email addy...do you have your User CP set to send you posts to your email?? what do you mean about that?? I only get private Msg. emails....so I don't know what you mean. If you find that I am doing something specific...let me know and I will correct it as soon as I can. Sorry about that!! | |

Okay, I was wondering about this, too, but I think this is what terry is talking about.
There's an option to your posts that you get notified via email that replies have been made to whatever thread you have posted. You can turn this option off, either through your UserCP and resetting your options there, or when posting replies in the advanced mode, there's a check box whether you want email notification or not.
I've had the same experience with another board that usese vBulletin (not here because if I had this function turned on, there's going to be too many emails in my box, so it's turned off and I check into this board at least once a dayand go to "New Post"s). I think one of the reasons this happens is when the poster submits the post, then edits it almost immediately. At least, that was what I figured when I got double notices, and when I went to the said post, I noticed that the edit time was only a few mins after the first post time.
Of course, there may be other reasons. Anybody elsc notice anything?
P.S. I've just edited this for a mis-spelling, so if one of you gets a double notice, then the above is what happened with this one.

OH YES...if that is it Doc....I edit my posts A LOT...I post and then see something mis-spelled...or an error of some sort...and go back and fix it. It will bother me if I don't fix it....LOL. So, that may be it.... Terr....I will not edit this one no matter what...let me know if you get more than one... Hope this info will help clear your box a bit!! Sorry for the inconvenience.... | |

Same here. I have been getting 2's, 3's and even some 4's. It didn't used to happen to me either.
