I have been crushing my pills in pudding since I had my surgery, and it really works good for me...but my question is will i always have to do this or does anyone just swallow the pills? they seem so big considering i think it is called the stoma? is the size of an pencil eraser?

Mine has recently told me to crush mine or take them out of the capsule. They would hve to disolve better that way. Mine was from tummy reasons not digesting. I would keep doing it as long as it works for you and then ask next visit you go.

| I think my doc let me stop crushing at about 7 weeks. I still have to cut them though -- it's weird coz there was no throat surgery, right? but I still have trouble swallowing larger tabs now -- go figure.....

I have a chewable mulit, chewable calcium citrate, and sublingual B12. My anti-D is a whole pill and it goes down fine. You should check with your doc.

My pills are just about all chewable. I only have one pill that is in gel capsul form and I have 3 other ones that I chew with my chewables and that seems to work for me and the only one I swallow whole is my blood pressure med. The pill is very small so it goes down easily. I got the chewable calcium that tastes just like carmel. It has 3 carb and I take one in the morning and one at night. I use to have the other chewables but I just could not handle the griddyness of that chewable pill. It felt like I was chewing gravel.

I have been taking pills since the morning after surgery...be careful crushing as it breaks down things in some pills...(some are NOT supposed to be crushed)....my vitamins and calcium are chewable, but everything else (estrogen, biotin, tylenol, antibiotics) are whole pills I swallow!

They took me off most of my meds and the ones that I really need my Dr changed them one to liquid and the other is now a patch, my surgeon did add protonics which can not be crushed I did take it whole and it got stuck in the stoma so they told me to break it in half that has been working. I guess I am afraid to take the pill form, I did take a benydral and it went ok but it is very small. I guess I would do want works for you.
