Unhappy I don't understand

I have lost 2 lbs in the past 2 weeks. I was not expecting the weight loss to be so slow. In the past when I went on a diet I would shed pounds much quicker. Does this mean that my weight loss will always be so slow or will the weight start dropping once my body adjusts. I know that I am not eating too much (especially compared to before) I am also doing a 40 minute workout every morning alternating cardio and weights and also walk for 1 hour daily. - Well some days I only get in a 45 minute walk.
I also did not get a period this month. I had one right after surgery but this month I got crabby, back ached, cramps, and all the other fun stuff but nothing as far as flow. I did have VERY light spotting on one occasion. Does this mean my body is having a hard time adjusting? I have read many posts about slow weight loss and how not to fret, but I am working sooooooo hard. Did any of you have slow weight loss in the beginning and then it sped up once your body adjusted?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

you have to give it some time. at 1 month a bunch of us hit our first stall. you might be pulling up on your first. dont get discouraged. stick to the program and it will start coming off again. i know its easier said than done. but if you have time do a search on stalls or plateaus SO MANY threads will come up because we've all hit them. you are doing fine

no problem. we have all been there and get stuck repeatedly throughout this journey; which was something no one ever told me until i got here. just remember you are not alone. fr every thought or thing that you go thru there is at least one person who has been there so keep posting your thoughts and concerns. someone will always hop on to let you know they've been there too.

I can totally relate. My surgery was on 12-11 and I have noticed a major slow down this week. I will prob lose 2 pounds when I weigh in on Tues.. I also got my period shortly after surgery and it was a week early which is really odd for me. I am so glad we have this site because I would be freaking about hitting a stall this early. I guess we need to hand in there.

It's so disconcerting when you are working hard and trying to recover and get in all the nutrients, especially early on! You're bodies have been thru a major trauma - if you had the lap procedure (vs. open) your exterior scars a really small so it's easy to underestimate what your body has been thru, esp if you're feeling fairly well. It takes a while for your body to heal and really get into the losing mode. Kenya is right - just follow your doc's protocol, take whatever supplements you need to, get in your protein and exercise appropriately to your postop directions. There are times when it seems to slide off and times when your scale will stall for weeks!!! (trust me - that one's a toughie!!!) Just keep doing healthy things for your body and take care of you. The weight loss will follow. Also, keep in mind, when we take in really little amounts as sometimes happens early out, our bodies tend to hang onto what it gets, so sometimes you have to be sure you get enough to lose. The weight loss is coming, hang on

I can totally relate to you, as many others can. I was about 6 weeks out from surgery and I didn't lose anything for 2 weeks. I was frustrated and annoyed at the same time, but everyone on here just kept telling me to be patient, it will pass. And it did! I only weigh myself about once a week because I don't want to get obsessive that way. I know that being women, surgery or not, our bodies are going to gain an ounce or pound for no good reason, but because of the surgery, it will come back off. I am a little more than 3 months out and I have lost almost 80 lbs! Don't fret, you will keep losing. Don't weigh too often and stay focused.

I didn't have any trouble with my period right after the surgery, I actually got it the day I went in to have the surgery...like I didn't have enough to worry about! I got one the next month and it was a little late, but normal, then I didn't get one. You're body will change and it will take time for it to get used to what you have done to it. I will advise you to use every sort of birth control imaginable because I got pregnant in November, not even two months after my surgery. We used condoms and it wasn't enough. It is very hard to be pregnant right now because I cannot eat very much and I feel sick all the time. But, it can happen.

Good luck and I'm sure you are doing great!

i have went thru times of slow losing but then when your body catches up the scale moves very nicely, just keep doing everything you are doing and things will pick up...oh and smile, you are doing great!

Thanks everyone - I feel better. It is almost like this surgery has made me nerotic. Pre op I was happy go lucky, not much bothered me. But since I have decided to have the surgery (both pre and post op) I just get so freaked out about the littlest thing!!! Thanks goodness I have you guys. I have failed so miserably my whole life when it comes to weight loss and I guess when I do not see the scale move I slip into old patterns and think - You loser - you are even failing at this. I will work on the power of postive thinking. Thanks again girls. We do not have a support group where I live and my surgeon is 4 hours away and only works one day a week (and has a weight list of 300 patients - 3 years to get surgery) so I do not have much local support.
