I adored chocolate pre-op....I don't seem to want it anymore....everything that was sweet to me before is almost sickening now.....I tend to lean more toward natural sweet now...fruit, yogurt etc!

Im like Kath. Not that sweets was my problem before surgery. My problem was always chips and salty stuff. But now things seem to taste way to sweet and sickening to me. Wierd how the taste buds change. To me a clementine or etc..
surfices as a sweet for me.

Kenyar, have you tried dried apricots or peaches? I get cravings and try to have some dry fruit on hand and do a couple of slices. They are still a long way from "free" food but at least have nutrients and fiber. A couple of bits usually take care of the problem for me. : ) Figs are great too.

You are NOT alone!!!! I loved sweets pre-op, and STILL crave them. Now, I'm not really sure if I dump off sugar or not. I've only had "bites". But once in awhile, I'll buy sugar free candy or cookies, which are of the devil too, cuz if I have them in the house, I will eat it daily until they are gone. Unfortunately, my taste never did change after surgery. Nothing tastes "too sweet", which is what I was really hoping for.

I have switched my sweet cravings to fruit also, I even have bought fruit that I never bought before surgery, just to try new things, even the strange fruits, from different countries, it is fun, most of them I didn't like, but its just for fun!
