Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Okay........I'm really getting flustrated with myself. I am stuck between 190 and 192. I am obsessed with the scale and I feel like I'm spiraling out of control. Everyone that has had surgery at the same time I have has lost alot more weight than me. The weight I am at is the weight I normally make it to with every other diet that I would try. I am snacking some but somedays I do real good. I don't know what I will do if I fail at this. I can't take being fat anymore!!!!!!!!!!!! When the scale was moving fast without much effort it was wonderful. Is all of this normal? Can anyone who had surgery around the same time I did give me pointers as to how they continue to lose? I don't know how much or how often to eat? This is really beginning to rule my life!!! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I know what you mean by the scale rules our lives. ITs so hard to stay away from it. The other thing is you need to not compare your self to others. We are all different heights and starting weights and etc......Kenya and I use to have these same conversations back when we were in the beginning stages. We then found out she was much taller than me and didnt I had more to loose than hers so even thought its easy to compare yourself to others you gotta try not to. A long time ago Lisa Friendly posted a post about her and Shelly and how they both lost the same amount over a period of time, like a year or so but how one lost quicker than the other but in the end it equalled out. Hang in there and just try to keep a positive attitude and you will keep on loosing. Use your tool. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | yes definitely do not compare yourself to anyone else. that will drive you NUTS. what A New Me is saying is so true. we used to message about this all the time. and then we did realize there were other factors one being my height if you feel like you are losing control think about what it is thats making you feel that way. if you are truly hungry, make good choices and eat. if you are munching out of stress or frustration or something emotional, deal with the emotion first and then THINK about whether or not you are really hungry. always stop, take a minute and think. you will be surprised often times you arenot hungry at all. i think you are doing great. you hit a bump as we all have, and it will pass. |

| Super Moderator | Awww ((((((HUGS))))))) You've made it to Onederland and that's wonderful. It also seems that everyone gets stuck for a while around where you are, after arriving in Onederland. Now, to take a look at your weight loss from anothe perspective. You say that others who had the surgery about the same time as you have lost more. I took a look at your ticker, and your starting weight is in the mid 200s. So, what are the starting weights of the others? You see, the scale numbers can sometimes give you the wrong impression. The scale you need to use in comparing weight loss it the rate, not the numbers. How much weight you need to lose, and how many % of that have you lost. On the average, you are expected to lose 50% of your excess weight in the first 6 months, the next 25% in the next 6 months, and the last 25% beyond your first year, between 18-24 months. You are approximately 5 months out from your surgery, and according to your ticker, you have already lost 61% of your expected weight loss. That means you are above the average curve. So, you are doing very well, actually. How many inches have you lost, how many sizes in clothes have you come down? Pretty good, I'm sure. If you haven't tried new clothes, try them now, it's bargain season. You don't have to buy them, just go to a store and try on a few jeans, find out what fits you. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I USED TO COMPARE MYSELF TO OTHERS ALL THE TIME. BUT WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT. IT HAS TO DO WITH HEIGHT, BEGINING WT (the heavier you are the more you will lose in the begining usually), AGE AND JUST THE FACT THAT SOME PEOPLE MIGHT HAVE A FASTER METABOLISM THAN OTHERS AND EXCERCISE/ACTIVITIES. SO JUST HANG IN THERE FOLLOW THE RULES AND IT WILL WORK OUT FOR YA. I HAVENT SEE ANYONE ON HERE FAIL YET!!! |
