Default Shouldn't I FEEL different?

As I am new to the bypass process I hope there isn't a limit to stupid questions, because here is another one!!

Okay, so I am 10 days out (yes, pain pretty much gone!). I keep hearing of nausea and vomiting. I also am told to eat 1/4 cup, and STOP when you feel full. (chest fullness)

So here is my question.........should I be concerned that not only do I have no nausea or vomiting, but I don't get that "full" feeling either?

I follow the food rules because I want to do well- but my body has given me no cues at all. I can't say I feel hungry or full or ANYTHING stomach wise! (of course mentally and physically I know I need food)

I am scared I will be able to eat too much as things progress since it doesn't seem different to me so far.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I too had the same experience, actually the vomiting did not happen until I was trying more solid foods in my diet, then pouchy would disagree once in awhile. Also, I know a few of the times I vomited were from just plain old eating too fast. As for feeling full, it is a new experience that is different from the "old full" we had before surgery, before most of us ate till we were "stuffed", I know I did. It is not a "stuffed" feeling it is a "satisfied" feeling. It takes time to learn how to read your body. Trust me, there is no way you are going to eat too much this early out, just keep measuring out the food like they told you and be patient, you will get in tune with your new system.

I agree, it takes a while before you can start to feel hunger or fullness. I am almost 4 month out and I have just barely started to be able to feel it physically when I have eaten enough. I was like you in the beginning and thought the surgery wasn't going to work for me because my pouch wasn't working right.

I didn't start throwing up until I started on solid foods. I was fine in the liquids and semi solids. I still have problems quite often when I try to eat regular foods. I will usually sit down with my family for dinner and try to eat some of what they are having. It works out about half the time. The other half I end up running to the bathroom and end up later eating something from the soft foods lists.

Just be patient. You will find your body will change many times over the next few months. You will learn what works for you and how much is your limit. You are doing great!

I am 7 weeks out, have had no vomiting or nausea and I am not really sure when I am full. I just eat what amounts I am told and it seems to satify me even though I am sure I could eat more. It will all come together.

I had no vomiting...and just kinda gauged what I thought was 4 ounces...I have never measured or weighed food...at this point, it's all about getting a routine down, according to the diet plan...work on that and you should be fine!

This feeling that used to get from being full is different now, it is more of like a pressure than a full, If at anytime you eat too much you will know it. As for vomiting I only throw up if things get stuck or I eat to fast. Just listen to your body you will figure it out, it takes time. Just keep doing as your dr says you will do fine.
