Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Ok When I Watched The Biggest Loser Last Wk The Black Team Weighed In At A Very Low Wt Loss And Then They Realized Why. It Was Because They All Ate Very Few Calories, They Just Didnt Eat Enough. So Of Course Their Bodys Metabolism Shut Down. The Following Wk They Weighed In At Such High Numbers They Had Won Against The Blue Team. Because They Ate More Food That Wk. So They Got Their Metabolism Going Again And Then Some. I Remember When I Was Very Ill Due To Complications Of The Surgery My Whole Body Had Shut Down For A While And I Wasnt Losing In The Begining That Much Because I Was Unable To Eat And Then When I Was Able To Eat A Tiny Bit But Not Much, Maybe 300-400 Calories A Day My Wt Loss Started A Tiny Bit But Not Much. Then As Time Went On And I Got Better So Did The Wt Loss. Now How Are We Losing Wt With Amount Of Calories We Take In. We Hardly Take In Anything At All Compared To Normal People. I Take In Anywhere From 650-900. Of Course My Wt Is Hardly Coming Off Now A Days. How Come Our Metabolisms Dont Shut Down Or Slow Down Big Time? Also Wouldnt Be Better Or Maybe I Would See More Results If I Were To Up My Calories Some More? Of Course I Tried Real Hard To Do That Today But Of Course No Success I Got In 799. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I've noticed some interesting jumps/stalls too. Usually, a marathon walking session combined with a tad more food will help "bump" the scale (I swore it was broken when it wouldnt budge off of 179.5 for so long!) I'm averaging about 1000 cal a day with reasonable protein, carbs and very low fat. I've also noticed the wtloss slowdown since I quit walking 3-5 miles a day. I do about 30 mins on the eliptical and do some ball and wt work for upper body. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Very good questions Edie. I was just talking to someone at work about this and how Jillian kept telling them they needed more fuel for their bodies. there was a guy last season too, the last guy left on the red team. The blonde kept telling him he needed to fuel his body more and he had a hard time with that. Funny thing is that the same thought had went thru my head, if maybe I up my intake of stuff maybe this would help push me more. Maybe my body needs more. So very good question. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I totally hear you Edie. I just have been very very discouraged lately. I dont even get the .5 or 1 pound. I have been at the same weight for about 5 weeks now. It goes up a .5 and then back down .5 and back and forth. I even bought new batteries for my scale thinking there was a problem. But your right if we are doing well with our food intake and we are exercising I just dont get it. It does get frustrating. I work out 6 days a week. I break quite the sweat and all. I just dont get it either. ![]() |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Another very good question Edie. I truly wonder that too. I am just about 10 months out and I really do wonder if I am the end. Like I said I havent moved the scale in 5 weeks so that would have been just about 9 months post op. |
